They handled Detroit's well. Having said that, Toskala bailed them out a few times.

Everybody in this thread is making predictions, if you are going to talk down to him for his opinion, why not talk down to every else or just shut up. The guy obviously feels Grabovski has great potential, so I ask you: was YOUR comment "****ing neccessary"?

Huh.. I dont think Grabovski has high potential.. he has explosive speed and some nice stickhandling skills but he sucks in some other areas.. I just think he will outscore Koivu tonight if Koivu plays like he played yesterday, in fact, if Koivu is gonna play that way all the season long, just get rid of and call up Maxwell..

This is why I reacted like I did to your previous post...

You'd have to be delusional to think that Koivu will play bad all year.

And for the record, I do think he had a bad game yesterday

I can't wait for Kovalev to make him look like a pylon...

Because honestly, he probably won't be able to in a few years.

I want Koivu to do fine, Im just worried about his lack of strength and vitality.. He isnt getting younger and Im effraid to see him desapear for some long stretchs like it happened in the last 2 years.. Now he has the wingers to succeed, there is no more excuses.. I like Saku alot but we are now a contender, he has to make his line a good one..

Oh noes. There's no way we'll score with Luke Schenn on the ice.

Agreed, but even if he does dissapear, as long as he puts up 60 points or so, theres no need to wory because we have plenty of firepower to cover for him.

Myself, Im giving all players 5-10 games before I make any concrete assessments on them

That's a pretty unlikely hypothetical situation. Just making sure, you do realize that Koivu missed almost all of training camp and most of preseason right? I don't think it's really logical to be harsh on him with regards to one game, considering the circumstances.

Barring an injury, I think Koivu will deliver what he always has delivered for us, between 55-70 points, solid two-way play and all the intangibles. We should wait just a little bit longer before throwing him under the bus.

People don't freak out if we lose tonight. I have a feeling we will, mostly because the Leafs are going to be playing all hyped, and I think it's going to take a couple weeks for the team to gel. Also going to take a couple weeks for Carbo to realize who he should be puting out for powerplays.

Normally I'd lose it if we lost to the Leafs on opening weekend, by this time I realize how insignificant it is in the big picture. This team is going to be very good.

4-2 Habs, including an empty net goal.

AKost, Kovalev, Tanguay and Hammer will score

Will Grabovski survive intact? Some Habs would delight in punishing him.

Anyone know who the commentators on CBC will be tonight? I imagine the ever enlightening Bob Cole, and Harry Neale

If it is, I won't be able to digest them, and will have to stick with RDS
