I'm really excited for this one after watching last game. Both teams are really fast and entertaining, the habs have better offense, but the leafs are better defensively, goaltending included. I'm thinking this could be the best game we've seen the leafs play in a long time because of the rivalvry. You know guys like Frogren, Hagman, Grabovsky, Mayers, etc. want this win bad. I think Antropov will have a better game tonight, he always plays good against Montreal. Toskala looked good against the wings and I expect he will be even better tonight because he will probably have to make some huge saves because the habs are very creative.
Tlusty and Grabs are still young and inexperienced and still feeling their way around .. It wouldn't surprise me if that line over takes the first one in a month or two and becomes our most dangerous offensive line on a nightly basis..
If Kulemin joined the tall cans in an all USSR combo unit I think it could do really well .. Antropov is a great playmaker with vision, Poni's strength is his board work and Kulemin could be the closer and finisher that would make it very effective and dynamic. IMO.
Id like it to turn into something more like this
Antropov ---- Steen --- Kulemin
Tlusty -- Grabovski--- Hagman
Poni -- Moore ------ Mitchell
Hollweg --Stajan ---- Mayers
I'd also like them to trade Stajan if you can get value

I will be there too, way up in the nose bleeds
Agreed. Stajan has value imo but hes running out of space on this team. good pker and leader needs to pick up his game and out of wilsons dog house.
Yes he is, and likely the reason that Montreal doesn't have a problem inserting him tonight in an arch rival heated division game.
You will not be seeing Leafs playing Cujo though.
Carey Price was a game star yesterday stopping 35 Sabre shots and recording a .972 SV% and allowing only 1 goal in the game, decided by a shootout. Usually that kind of performance doesn't get you benched for the next game. Habs are saving Price for the Flyers game on Tuesday.
It was stated on Thursday that Price would get Friday and Halak Saturday. Montreal plays 3 road games in 4 nights so I think Carbo wanted to keep them fresh and get both atleast a game early to get them into the groove.
It will be interesting to see how Grabs plays against the Habs. I enjoyed watching that line on Thursday, I thought Tlusty played an excellent game, Hagman I have always thought was under rated as well.
I'm expecting a great game ... and I'm really really hoping that Grabovski lights it up. I expect that he's got something to prove to his former team and that'll show tonight. I'll be disappointed if he doesn't bring a high level of intensity to his game tonight. LOL, if he looks great tonight, many Hab fans will be gnashing their teeth on the HF boards tonight. Many Hab fans were quick to crow about how they ripped us off but I've personally alway liked this trade.
I uhhh, really really want to beat the Scabs tonight. Tank or no tank, starting out a season with wins against Detroit and Montreal would be too sweet!!
I'd like to see the Leafs win the first Saturday HNIC. The Habs will come out flying, after last night's loss to Buffalo. If the Leafs stick to what they did, they should hang in there.
If your CBC feed shows something else, your center ice should carry it. If your Center Ice isn't covering it, CBC should be showing it. Judging by your location you'll probably be getting the Ottawa game on CBC, which would mean that the Leaf game should be telecasted on NHLCI for you.
Call Sportsondemand and tell them if you don't get the game. You shouldn't be blacked out for both games, you paid for Center Ice for this very reason.
I hope Strålman is on the team tonight. His weakness has been his weight before, he hasn't exactly been the huge man in the defence. His skills has been in PP and mainly contributing to the offence. But now with him gaining weight over the summer while still keeping his speed and so on he could become a very good player. However if you bench the kid to long you are going to mess with his confidence and thats not the smartest thing to do with a young player.
But hey i'm sure this isn't the first promising young player your club has destroyed so i'm sure you are used to that game at this point...

It's a learning experience for Stralman. He himself recognized that he is fighting for a spot. And that he wasn't all that good in preseason. Ron Wilson should help Stralman mold his d-game. He is in a right environment here. I wouldn't worry about this.
