Rowdy? I'm not from Des Moines and have gone to several games there... I've always had a pleasant experience with the fans. They're definitly not as roudy as Lincoln and Tri-City. I've been there too. I guess anything could be considered "roudy" though when compared to River City's arena which never gets full for games. (That wasn't a dis on the team, I promise, I was just trying to possibly understand where you are coming from.) Anyways... The Buc Bowl is one of the best weekends of hockey... you have so many games in such a short period of time... almost all of the leagues teams in the same place the same weekend... the place isn't packed except for Des Moines games... and you get to preview the teams new players before the regular season starts. You should definitly check it out if you get the chance. It's only a 2 hour (?) drive from Omaha... right? I drive 3.5 hours to get there... but it's definitly worth the travel time.
