When higgins comes back

Does he go straight to the second line with koivu and tanguay?? or bump tender down to 3rd line and give higgins his spot next to koivu?

with higgins in the line up here is what i would have on offence

akost plek kovy
tanguay koivu tender
skost lang higgins
bgl/begin chipchura/lapierre kosto

i know there is already a thread about our 4th line but

bgl chipchura kosto

makes so much more sense to me i dont know why chipchura is being scratched for lapierre

Kostitsyn - Plekanec - Kovalev
Tanguay - Koivu - Latendresse
Higgins - Lang - Kostitsyn
Kostopoulos - Chipchura - Laraque

Why after 2 games would Carbo change his pre season plan. He said many times that he will play Higgins with Koivu and Tanguay. Lats will be playing with Lang and Serge.

After last nights game I think its only fair you leave Lats with Koivu and Tanguay for now.

So Higgins with Lang and SK74

I think it's important to remember that it's a matter of matching 9 forwards to get the most production. Naming the lines is irrelevant though it seems that we'll call Pleks #1, Koivu #2 and Lang #3. Hiigins or S.Kost switching is neither a promotion or demotion for either player.

I think that Carbo will have to make a decison as to which of Lats,Higgins and Tanguay plays rw best. Then the question gets answered. If Tanguay and Lats play well tomorrow, I'd think Higgins plays with Lang Wednesday.

If anyone here gets no respect, its Higgins. He is the second line goal scorer. I can't believe how many people want to trade and put the guy on the 3rd line, it's unreal !!

This depends who is on the RW. Playmaker or goal scorer ?

Definitely put him on the Lang line, that line needs someone that can put a few pucks in the net.

my point exactly,

Tanguay feeding across to Tender > Tanguay feeding across to higgins > Higgins feeding Tanguay

IMO

I think Higgy is more of natural goal scorer than Gui. He just has been really unlucky with posts.

I'm a Higgins fan too, but think of what he'd bring to a line with Lang and S.Kost. His outrside sped gives both linemates a target and gives Lang a bit more time and space. It allows S.Kost 2 options with Higgins moving around the zone and Lang being a good finisher. A line like that could put together as much as 70 goals with solid defense.

I'm just not sold on Tanguay on the right as of yet.

There is an old saying you don't lose your spot due to injury....this certainly applies here but even more so Higgins is a much better player even now

I like Higgins too, but i don't see tanguay playing on a line with Lang. I think he need Koivu intensity to be effective. Since Higgins is a good skater and intense on every shift, he would improve lang game

This is sheer facepalmery.

1)The 2nd line had a combined 5 points on even strength alone & you want to break it up? At least wait until the next game so suggest such a thing.
2)Yeah, poor Higgy. Being stuck on a line with scrubs like Lang & S.Kost...

Why do people get bent out of shape about such things?

I'm permitted to staple pancakes to my face, doesn't make it sensible to do so.

I think he'll go back with Koivu and Tanguay, but I would prefer him with Lang and SK...

I absolutely love the chemistry between Koivu and Lats and I would hate to see it broke up... and I feel that Higgins would complement perfectly Lang and SK... his speed is what is lacking on that line.

That way, we would have 3 excellent (not good) lines... I hope no one else will be injured when he'll come back. I so want to see our Fabulous 9 in action
