Remember that 'Dodgers national appeal' I was telling you about?

He was also born in SoCal.

The most worrisome part of this is that Moyer is setup to be the Game 7 pitcher.

What I didn't realize before is that there is an extra off day. Now I'm not so sure whether or not I keep Hamels until game 5. At worst, Game 7 is on his throwing day, so he would be available anyways. I didn't realize that if he went in Game 4, Game 7 would be full rest.

Extra off day?

Oh ... I had no idea they weren't playing Tuesday.

So do you think they should start him tomorrow night? I know they won't but would anyone be against it?

Rally time?

I'd rather keep him for game 5, I think. Hamels vs Billingsley should be a W, and Blanton has been damn good for the Phils down the stretch.

Everything about this game involves the other team blowing us away.

We need 1 of the next 2 games.

As much as I love Moyer, he is NOT a post-season pitcher. He should not start again this series.

I'll start by saying we need tomorrow night. I'll worry if we lose then, since it'll give the Dodgers huge momentum. Not to say that tonight doesn't, but tying up the series with another game at home will not be good.

Doesn't have to be tomorrow, just win one and make the Dodgers have to win both games in Philly.

Momentum is tomorrow's starting pitcher.

Great sounds like Romero might have hurt his ankle coming off the mound. That wouldn't be good

Very true. I know Blanton has been gret so far, but something still kind of feels unsettling to me. We shall see, I suppose.

We do need a strong rebound tomorrow, but if we don't get it and Lowe beats Blanton, we NEED Hamels to beat Billingsley in Game 5 and force the Dodgers to finish Myers and someone (can't see it being Moyer) at CBP.

Moyer will get the ball...I'd be shocked if Manuel threw him out like that, not his style.

Anthony Gargano is an idiot, btw: "You have to play for Game 7."

No you don't. You play for the next game...you play the way that gives you the best opportunity to win the next game and take it from there.

That's because on paper this matchup favors the Dodgers.

On the other hand, if you keep Blanton in for game four, he's at normal rest for game seven, so they could easily throw him out there instead of Moyer.

It just happens that Hamels would give us our best shot to win tomorrow AND it would put him in line to pitch game 7 if needed.

I agree.

I am dissapointed tonight, not at the fact we lost, but rather how we lost. We just did not really seem ready to come out and play this game. We all know what Moyer did and that he was terrible, but the chances for us to get back in this game were there.

Tomorrow I hope we put on a hitting display against Lowe.

LETS GO PHILS!

Gargano is so funny because he's so over the top when he's freaking out. He hates the Red Sox too, therefore he hates Manny more than most people in Philadelphia already do and he's scared he's just going to start teeing off.

So sure? Wouldn't shock me in the slightest if Hamels struggled mightily on short rest just because he's such a fickle dude. Guy is a great pitcher, but I have serious questions about his mental fortitude.

This team also has won and won with Blanton on the mound. Just because it's the playoffs does not mean you should start approaching everything differently. Little things, yes. Big things...no. Teams get in trouble when they get away from the stuff that made them good in the first place.
