Ryan Jones and Antti Pihlstrom

What do you think about these guys?

Who will have the better success in their career? Upside? NHL-ready?

I have thought and continue to think that Antti Pihlstrom is going to be a special, entertaining player...capable of both scoring goals and bringing excitement.

As for Ryan Jones...I'm not sure what to make of him. All i really know is that Trotz says he's really great...but Trotz likes a certain kind of player. I haven't really seen anything special, thus far.

I just threw up in my mouth.

I think Jones will be sent down when (if) Ortmeyer comes back. Though I'd like to see him a few more times before passing too harsh of a judgment.

I personally think Jones has a higher upside in terms of points. Pillu is an energy type player that won't score as many points, but will be exciting to watch.

I think you guys are being highly critical of two young players, who are very much rookies in the NHL. Give them some time.

I've had the pleasure of watching Ryan Jones for the past four years at Miami University...and I can attest, that Jones is most certainly a special player. He'll work out...especially with the Predators...trust me. He needs time to develop.

That's the main reason everyone here wants him in Milwaukee.

Tennessean says Jones will be scratched again tonight, I think it is only a short matter of time.

Yeah, I am surprised that he made the club out of camp. Time in Milwaukee will be good for him, considering he played only a handful of games with Houston after the NCAA season ended.

Curious...when's Pihlstrom's realistic ETA for regular NHL duty?

Was anticipating he'd make the big club out of camp this season.

If this lineup keeps clicking, probably sometime next fall. But if the team's play drops off from its current level... I'd say about two weeks, maybe a month tops.

The team seems to be on a good stride right now, that is really going to hurt their chances, this is a great problem to have though.

I sure hope that Pillu bolts back to Finland if he is kept in the AHL for longer than 25 games.

If he's gonna take that attitude, then I hope the door doesn't hit him on the way out. After this whole mess with Radulov, we have zero tolerance for the "play me or I'm going to Europe" mentality.

He's the only guy in Milwaukee that I would trust with major (15+) NHL minutes right now, and he could very well play his way into said spot if he keeps playing well. Besides, he's not exactly dogging it in the minors: 3 goals and 21 shots in 4 games.

By the way, Jones looked really good against Columbus Saturday night. I think he's finally starting to get adjusted to the NHL and he looks like the kind of player that Trotz we were expecting when we got him. I think he's gonna be a fan favorite, and we're certainly winning the Zidlicky trade at the moment.

Getting such disrespect as to having to play in the AHL isn't really nice when there are worse players who are signed to oneway contracts on the team. It's not like he has much more to learn in the AHL.

And if he stays in the AHL, it's not a given that he'll be available for the world champs, while if he plays with the big club, or in europe it's pretty much a sure thing.

he's one injury away from a call-up, once he's here, he'll be fine.

I hope he get's traded if not called up in the next month. He's an NHL-player and if Nashville doesn't need him, trade him.

Lol. Antti shouldn't care about your tolerance, he should care about his career. I agree there that he coming back to Europe would be a major set back to his NHL-career and I dont think Antti would do that being this close to regular NHL-hockey.

Pihlstrom will get called up, but he has to earn it and prove that he fits better than what we have now. I think he is on the verge of doing so, but until Trotz feels like he is.....there is no point calling him up.

MAYBE he might not be ready yet, just saying, just because he doesn't play the first month doesn't mean he's not gonna play with us.

Yeah.... thatt's something the 28th defensive team in league really needs. Someone who won't play D.
