Nashville (1-1-0) @ Chicago (0-2-0)

Link to NHL.com Gamecenter:
http://gamecenter.nhl.com/nhlgc/cons...?id=2008020038

TV:
FSN-S (Nashville), CSN-CH (HD) (Chicago)

Last year's series:
Chicago won the season series 5-1-2.

All time series:
This will be the 58th meeting between the two clubs. Nashville is 26-24-4-3 against Chicago.

Players to watch:
For Nashville, Arnott and Dumont come in tied for the team lead in points with 4 each. Martin Erat picked up two assists on Saturday on the Power Play. Will Hornqvist get on the scoresheet?

For Chicago, obviously it begins with Toews and Kane, who both gave the Predators fits last year. Patrick Sharp was a Predators killer last year as well.

Other items:
This will be Chicago's home opener. Chicago has won four of its last six home openers.

Martin Erat will tie Scott Walker for 5th in games played for the Predators (410 games played).

No Robert Lang, this year

Still leaves Toews and Sharp, the other Preds killers. As long as they don't play an obscure backup goalie, we should be alright.

I'm hoping that Klein gets the start over Wasteinen, and maybe Jones instead of Ward.

We need Weber and Suter to have another solid effort. In fact, we need them to emerge as one of the better pairings in the leagues this year.

Watching our last game, and watching Chicago's start to the season, conventional wisdom would say that we have no business losing this game.

The Hawks may be a bit overrated. Everyone has them picked to take over our playoff spot in the central but their youth has shown over the past 2 games. That being said, they have some of the most exciting young guns and the goaltending could stablilize tonight so we have to battle hard.

Either way, should be a good game.

I always love when we play the hawks. Plus having a wife from Chicago makes it always a fun event for us.

i' massuming jones gets back in the lineup tonight, probably at the expense of Ward.

And hoping that Klein earned another start in place of Sille Wasteinen.

I guess we will be relying on Rinne later this season when Ellis burns out.

Predators cool off the Blackhawks initial rush but then get into penalty trouble and fall behind.

Sounds familiar.

And the Predators quickly tie it up.

Suter and Weber work it and Weber bombs one home.

Wow! I'm stunned! Thanks for the support!

Holy crap what a beauty by Klein. Why was he riding the pine the past 3 seasons again?

rough start into the game, but the 2nd half of the period was pretty good i'd say.
weber looks stronger than ever. that's the one i missed last season.
hornqvist still looks a bit lost outthere, doesn't he? i watched him a few times last season and he's a nice player. maybe he can get his 1st NHL point tonight while i'm watching.

He looks ok. He had a few chances. It will come around for him.

pretty good first period ... we've got to stay out of the box as much as possible against this team ... the more free space Toews & Kane get the bigger the hole we dig ourselves

Nice flub on the clearing attempt by de Vries to lead to the second Blackhawks goal.
