Maybe some day we'll ALMOST be able to beat them

My thoughts on that game right there.
Your foolish, the only mistake Gorges made all night was that coverage in front of the net on that goal; the rest of the game he was SOLID. Lapierre played a great game, not only did he fight, but he made some great forechecks, played high precentage hockey and played a solid game. If Lapierre plays like that every game I have no problem with him. The other two I agree with.

That's ridiculous considering that the whole NHL, even us, forgot him during 6 rounds... This kid is gonna be a superstar.

Looking back at the 2005 draft, that's where he should have been drafted:

1 - Sidney Crosby
2 - Carey Price
3 - Paul Stastny
4 - Jack Johnson
5 - Sergeï Kostitsyn

According to me, we had 2 top-5 picks at this draft.

Maybe... until our 27 goals scorer comes back in place of Kosto on the top 3 lines

Absolutely. And I'd like to add that George Laraque was invisible the whole night

I who hasn't ever liked Lappys game must admit he played a pretty solid game tonight, with great bursts of speed. Gorges was pretty solid also, i wonder which game this poster watched ?

I would rate Kopitar ahead of Kostitsyn that's for sure... But I agree that he is in the top 10 of the 2005 draftees.

Lapierre had a good game. He fought. We won. I'm happy.

Huh? Where's Anze Kopitar? You gotta put him ahead of Jack Johnson. Ditto for Marc Staal.

I'd probably rate the top 10 as:

1. Crosby
2. Price
3. Kopitar
4. Stastny
5. Marc Staal
6. S. Kostitsyn
7. Andrew Cogliano
8. Marc-Edouard Vlasic
9. Matt Niskanen
10. Martin Hanzal or Guillaume Latendresse...

HM: Oshie, Letang, Raymond, Johnson and Setoguchi.

I still don't know why S. Kosty fell so much that year. I remember that WJC game they showed on TSN, Belarus vs USA, when Andrei was a one man wrecking crew out there. Yet, Sergei still looked very good too as he played with tons of energy and passion.

I forgot Anze, but I looked at the list pretty fast.

Whatever, he's a top-5 for me.

1. Crosby
2. Price
3. Stastny
4. Kopitar
5. S. Kostitsyn
...
about 20. Latendresse

We have drafted three first round players.

I think tonight demonstrated how lethal our offense can be.

Teams can try to trap us, hit us and goon us up all night, but the lineup we have gives us the ability to score on at any given moment.

I love it.

Actually the only reason I wrote that about Gorges was not because of that mistake alone, but because he looked shaky, and made some easy plays look pretty difficult, didn't seem too sure of himself. I am a big fan of Josh, and I just know that he's better than what he showed tonight.

I still disagree about Lapierre, you make him out more than he was, he also looked pretty bad in his fight, but hey, at least he did drop them, better than nothing.

Keith Yandle, TJ Hensick, Anton Stralman and Darren Helm all have good chances of cracking that top 10 as well.

Pens fan saying good game tonight, always good to see the Flyers lose. S. Kostitsyn is fantastic, but I suppose you already know that.

On a down note, If you think Laraque would have done anything to Hartnell, you're sorrily mistaken. The Pens had problems with Hartnell specifically all season last year taking runs at Crosby, Malkin and Gonchar and all Laraque did about it in 8 games is fight Riley Cote. Malone had to do the real dirty work.

I doubt it, that thing came off so fast, it hit iron all the way. I would bet on it.

But our team is starving him and singing off key to him...

I agree, and isn't that the 2nd post he's hit since the start of the year?
