Brunet has a better voice than Murray Wilson, that's for sure.

I hate Pednault but i love to hate him.

He's way more entertaining than Brunet. Brunet is only stating the obvious.

He's ok... but he should stop calling players by their first names.

At least, unlike Pednault, he doesn't seem to be out of breath all the time.

The only ones he calls by their first names are Latendresse (He's the mascot of the french media, their loved one, their savior...), Koivu (He played with him) and Sergei Kostitsyn (Because of has a brother).

I don't like brunet at all.. His voice is so dull and boring, Pednault was alot more entertaining IMO.

I think Benoît's doing all right for a newb.

Pednault had how many years of experience, yet made as much insipid comments or blunders as Brunet.

As for his speaking, well he's partnered with Pierre "Monsieur Diction" Houde who gave voice and pronunciation (??) lessons to about each and every effin' francophone tv, radio or political figure around Montreal.. He'll only get better.

you guys like brunet?

he's got ZERO personality - ZERO voice - ZILCH NADDA

Brunet is a "low profile" under the radar type of guy - defensive, calculated etc...

that's not what you want from a color commentator! Please don't tell me that Brunet understands the game better than xyz... come on, the guy repeats the same crap over and over!

the fact that we have to put up with this shmuck for the rest of the year, the 100th, is p a t h e t i q u e , as they say in french.

Pednault, call him what you want, but at least he had PERSONALITY.

Funny, I really like Brunet. After Pedneault, it's a huge improvement.

Even a 12 year old kid would be an improvement over Yvon.

"Kostopoulos ici passe carrément dans le beurre" was also pure gold. I laughed for like a minute or two.

I miss Yvon so much. He made me laugh all the time. Benoit is just borring and he thinks Lapierre creates a lot of things because of his speed.

Brunet is boring and isn't very good at maths:

Habs score at 1:18 and 2:02 in 3rd:
"Le Canadien a marqué 2 buts en un peu plus de 2 minutes".

Would have been more appropriate to say Habs score 2 in less than 1 minute of play.

Habs lead 5-3 in the 3rd:
"Les Flyers devront marquer 3 buts en 3e périodes pour battre le CH"

What about 2 in 3rd and 1 more in OT or win in shootout?

Also, he's becoming Mr. Obvious. Not analyzing plays, just describing the plays in replays.

At least he dosen't moan when AK46 miss the net or O'Byrne can't get the puck out of the zone... Go Benoit!

classic!

If he can pull a few more of those he'll be good in my book. At least he can't be worse than Pednault imo.

Unless BB tells Pierre "Hey cé laid en tabarnac cte costume la"... he won't surpass Yvon.. as others mentioned, Yvon had personality.. Rick Jeanneret has personality, Mike Lange has personality (or insanity for both, call it whatever you want...).

Brunet is ok, conservative, safe (to quote a previous poster)... but shouldn't be on that team...

He meant from the start of the period.

I like Brunet...way more than Pednault. Two years ago, I was a fan of that old timer, but last year, that was it. He wasn't even able to say Kostitsyn right!!!

Sure Brunet don't have the personality of Pednault, but at least, he don't scream all the time, he breaths and he's funny. I like the fact that Brunet sound like a friend of the players (from time to time).

Anyways, I think most of you that don't like him now will ending up liking the guy. He's just starting...
