In my honest opinion, dandy played better than begin and lapierre .
begin made countless mistakes during the first 3 games... lots of icing calls, lots of missed hits, bad penalties ...ect... ect....
don't let that lucky goal fool you...
LARAQUE .... well , what can I say... its a dream come true.
I'm not going to lose sleep over it, but I don't agree. The two penalties in one play were terrible on Begin's part, so I'm not denying that he has made mistakes. I just feel that the two players are sort of a wash, but I would rather have Begin in the lineup for his toughness and PK skills over Dandy at this point.
I have a feeling Laraque will fight tonight, unless he isn't 100% healthy. It is opening night and he seems a little pissed off what happened Monday with that punk Hartnell. Laraque will want to send a message to the league Habs are now protected with an enforcer. If Lucic is dumb enough to drop with Laraque he'll get destroyed and the fans will set the world record decibel loudness level for a stadium. I think the Bruins will not try to provoke Laraque. Truthfully we should keep Begin and sit Dandenault, since Begin could start the commotion in motion
Laraques will probably try to prove himself infront of the montreal fanbase (maybe family ?)...
I feel like if he doesnt fight tonight, it's probably because all the bruins will be too scared of him.
I'm thinking BGL may scrap a bit more this year. Being in his home town rink might just fire him up a bit. The crowd can have an amazing affect on some players....
In any case, here's hoping he annihilates his first few 'customers', so as to send a message.
Hopefully the Habs get up a couple early and some unlucky Bruin feels like trying to turn the tide.
Really though, This is big Georges first game in a while and having missed the pre-season he'll probably be a little off timing-wise and I'm not sure he wants to fight and risk injury in his first game (after rehabing).
Interesting game within the game today. I guess it all depends on the score and how the game sets up. Georges, injury concerns aside, will respond if the situation calls for it.
I'd say given the oppostion, the past playoff series, and the preseason game in Halifax the likelihood of fisticuffs is pretty good.
honestly i don't see anyone on the Bruins accepting to fight him. Maybe Chara since he got laid down by Laraque before.. but his coach won't be happy if he drops them.
Two fights against Chara = No Chara for 10 minutes. I dont care much if he wins the fights or not as long as he puts Chara out for 5 min is already a win for us.
I don't care if BGL figths or not - I mean, I would consider it a success if his presence would lead to a game without cheap shots and "intimidation". He is not happy fighting and I'd rather applaud him for an assist or a good defensive play then for a fight.
Saw the Coté-Godard fight yesterday - did not like it. They were discussing it peacefully before the puck dropped ... you could almost hear "hey, let's do it and earn our keep".
Should it be 5 or 6 to 1 in third, I would even like to see him on a line with Kovalev and Lang for the fun of it.

Exactly.
Now, is Chara stupid enough to put himself in that position? we'll see I guess.
Given the circumstances, I feel he may fight. Everyone says he'll fight only if he's healthy, well...I don't think he'd be in the lineup otherwise.
Hyped. I knew Georges wouldnt need to practice first. But I guess Im going to have to accept the fact that Dandy is on the team for the balance of the season and will likely play 50ish games. Oh well
Why do you guys think that Laraque is going to fight? Gretzky couldn't get him to fight, traded him, and then he didn't fight with the Pens.
Best fighter in the league, but not an enforcer. He may go with Lucic because Lucic is crazy enough to offer.
LOL he is actually the premiere enforcer in the whole league, and that is the very reason why he doesn't need to fight as much as others - opposing players tend to behave themselves more when he is around.
