Christian Chartier

Remember Christian Chartier. According to TSN, the Maple Leafs didn't tender him a qualifying offer.

The Oilers signed Bergeron because they thought they might lose Chartier. Bergeron is in the NHL. Has Chartier played a game in the NHL yet?

No games in the NHL yet, though his AHL numbers look decent. If he couldn't crack Toronto's defence last year, I'm not too hopeful for his future.

You are correct. He hasn't played a single game in the NHL.

I remember when we first lost Chartier, I was a bit disappointed, looking at his numbers in juniors...but then we signed Bergeron, who had a better junior career. Now, it seems we made the right choice.

I would sign him. He's got potential to be 5/6 defenseman and a PP specialist

We have little or no use for Chartier in our system with our prospect depth on defense - pass.
