How much better would you expect Higgins (or anyone else) to perform?
Some people watch games and some people watch stats, you need to watch a few games. You could put a dog with skates on koivus line and he would rack up points.
5 points in 4 games! Wow he's a 1.25ppg player, even better than Crosby! You say it like it's 5 goals when it's 1 goal and 4 assists.
Koivu was godly on alot of those plays, he does all of the legwork just to get a pass to Lats as he floats around waiting. Need a pure goal scorer and until Lats actually uses his size and drives the net with more authority than a toddler he wont be that goal scorer.
Reading the thread, god I hope there's no injury to Saku or that there's no pissing match between him and Carbo... having the captain unhappy just creates a bad atmosphere in the team. I know he's probably not happy with the reduced role this year but anyways, too soon to jump to conclusions. Maybe it's as some others have pointed out that Carbo was pissed that he was booing Ryder... Which brings up the point, was Ryder hated by his team mates?
I don't think he was booing ryder during the game... only getting on his case during the shootout.
If he stayed on the bench and not in the dressing room... thats a good sign, re any injury that may have occurred.
I don't like Pierre Mguire, not that he's not smart, he's just irritating.
Also, the Laraque fight really wasn't much, George tripped, got back up immediately which wouldn't happen if Thornton actually had any control in the fight, then proceeded to manhandle Thornton and introduce him to the Habs' bench.

At the forum closing, a man came out of the locker room carrying the torch that was handed down from captain to captain....he was as strong as a oak despite his age.
Tonight, that man built like a wall, who still had a big frame back in 1996, showed to us the fragility of life as years go by.
Indeed, the man who was a stop sign at the blue line for 15 years can no longer walk. Time has got to him in ways hockey players never could.
But when he stood up to drop the puck, I teared up.
The man, once built like a tree, trembled on his legs. He struggled to grab the puck and struggled to drop it.
Such a reminder that this life we have goes one way, and to enjoy our strenght while we have it.

I agree with Kriss E
Apparently some people watch the games and analyze what is actually going on...
And some people say I'm gonna hate Latendresse no matter what happens, and never give him any credit, and if he scores it will be all cause of someone else on his line, and he's a bum, and hes fat, and blah, blah, blah, blah blah,... But they are impartial.
You can talk about tap in goals and Koivu doing all the work and all your crap... but A huge part of being a good goal scorer is being in the right place at the right time... being open for those so called easy opportunities. Lats is finding the right spots right now... the area from faceoff dot to face off dot and in, in front of the other teams net. People aren't pushing him around down low... and things are working on the line with 2 playmakers. I'd bet if you go back and watch his 5 points on NHL.com at least 4 of the five, if not all 5 are scored by him in this area....

As for the whole Tenderness stuff, he has been playing better but in the end, as mentioned, it has to do a lot with Koivu. Guillaume still has rock hands most of the time and missed a couple of nice set-ups that Higgins would have likely scored on.
