I assume thats the plan, kake. Let deVries walk this offseason and have Klein fill his spot. In 3 years, our defense top 4 will be sick (as long as Hammer re-signs). I'm not sure I have an opinion on Koistinen yet. He's streaky from what I've seen. And who knows how well he'll perform without Zidlicky this year.
Fair enough, and for the record, I think it can be argued that you are correct (although its hard to know if Klein is better or not due to his limited TOI when he has played).

I rest my case on Koistinen, tonight.

Sad that the one goal that Ellis really could be blamed for was the game winner. Especially deflating that we came back in such unlikely fashion on 4 separate occasions, only to lose it like that. We caught two lucky breaks...the waved off Dallas goal that should have counted (Hamhuis rode Morrow into Ellis) and the Erat goal that I was nearly certain wouldn't count(no angle actually showed the puck go in conclusively...I was under the impression that it was called no-goal on ice). Overall, a pretty depressing game. Defense is supposed to be our bread and butter, and we continue to let guys get wide open in the slot for easy tap-in goals.

Is it just me, or do we seem to give players milestones quite frequently?

So what, no one wanted to play defense tonight?

Ellis looked tired at the end.

Congrats to Hornqvist and Jones, first NHL goals.

And we get another chance Friday or Saturday. I saw on the NHL Network scroll that CBJ recalled Filatov.

At Even Strength Koistinen was atrocious last night. Plan and simple. Horrible turnovers, bad passes, players rushing right past him. Something went wrong nearly every shift that he took the ice.

I was disappointed that we battled back so hard and didnt tighten down the game, or couldnt.

This was a flashback to all of those years without that big number 1 center. What a difference an Arnott makes.

Legwand was a ghost again, that especially hurts when Arnott is out.

what's the count up to now?

We have Brunnstrom. In recent memory I recall giving up first career goals to both Zherdev and Tuomo Ruutu. Anybody else? I want to say someone from Boston maybe.

2 goal game from a Minny d-man on his first game. Can't remember his name but I'm pretty sure it was his first game and Koun was in goal. The guy just kept putting slappers over the glove shoulder.

I really hope this proves to Trotz how bad VK is. He killed us along with Zanon getting pucks to the head. I know there were two penalties taken because he was coughing the puck up all over the ice.

he is a -2 on the season right now. He skates well enough to get back into the zone although he committed a bad penalty on the backcheck while trying to cover Koistinen's mistake, it lead to Dallas' first goal.

You dont really notice his defensive play, and that's not in a bad way he just quietly goes about his business.
