Quotes:
“I kind of knew there was a skill level coming in, just looking at the lineup and talking as we went through the summer. The biggest surprise, clearly, has been the two young guys up front. Doughty, we knew he was probably a sure thing coming in, that we were going to put him in the lineup if he just came out and did a good job in the training camp. If you're the No. 2 pick overall, you're a pretty good player. But the young guys have been a real good surprise for me. Moller and Simmonds, and we talked about Moulson, those guys have really done a great job, and that's probably been the biggest surprise, the level of skill from the young players that are in the organization. There's a couple guys who have gone back to junior and there's a few guys who have gone down to Manchester that are going to be knocking on the door real soon. If not this year, they certainly will be there again next year at training camp. That's been probably the biggest surprise, the depth of the talent level that's in this organization.''- Terry Murray on what has suprised him most about the Kings' organization.

“Yeah, I feel stronger, for sure. My skating is better, so I think that's key for my game. I was working hard all summer to get better than I was before. I'm getting there. I'm not there yet. I think I still have a ways to go but I think it's on the right track.'' - Michal Handzus

"I'm ready to do my best for the team and try to get a playoff spot. I'm pretty sick and tired of what was going on here the last few years. I'm looking forward for a good season and I will do all I can for that." – Alexander Frolov

I hope I'm wrong, but im going with 5-5 tie, Kings lose in shootout.

High scoring affair, lots of hits, and piss poor defense on both ends

Awesome 100% in PK . I think this will decide tonight, special plays and Kings have the edge. Kings win 3-2. Looking forward for the game and I'll be up at 4:30 a.m. to watch our kids live.

GO Kings

Kings win 4-3. Play solidly throughout the first two periods. Go into the third with a 4-2 lead. Get outshot 14-6 in the third, surrender a goal, but hold on for the win.

You just reminded me of something. I was told by a Canadian co-worker who just moved here a few months ago that Tivo/DVR is brand new up there. Anyone know if that is true? I wondered how that could possibly be.

Hurricanes injuries are not correct.

Boychuk was cleared last friday and will play tonight.
Ruutu is nursing an injury and will be out.
Tanabe is no longer a Hurricane. Team reached a settlement agreement and bought out his contract.

Hockey isn't broadcasted on television here.
I have to find ways on the internet.

I do know what TiVo is, but not if it's available here.

Anyway, getting out of bed that early is well worth it to me

If the Kings can keep Carolina off the scoreboard early, I like our chances. Labarbera tends to struggle in the 1st period but gets better as the game goes along.

From what I've heard, Carolina has been getting themselves into penalty trouble in the first few games...

Whenever we play Carolina I think about Palffy scoring that late goal against them to tie.. I think it was in Carolina. I don't know why I just do.

We may have ended up losing the game but still.. I jumped out of my seat when he scored that goal. Anybody else remember that?

Hey the King's have a one game winning streak, that is gung ho time. What kind of King forum site would it be if everyone said King's will lose 3-2 - I personally never understood the prediction of scores though.

I have not seen the Canes play this year to form an opinion but I did like our effort in games 2 and 3 so let's hope it continues. I enjoy watching the young kid's Doughty, Moller, and Simmonds. One thing is I have to stop expecting so much from Kopitar.
