I see a bunch of young, but talented forwards...and mediocrity on the back end.

definitely better than last year though. I still like Timonen and Coburn. Väänänen has played past expectations, and many people have varying opinions on Sbisa, but so far he has played great.

I think the D is good enough to win lots of games, if the team can figure out how to play together.

Definitely better?

Eminger and Alberts have been bad defensively...it's as simple as that. Sbisa looked horrid against the Avs, and has been mixed in the other games. What people see in him is his physical skills (which are very good), but it's more than physical skills that makes a good NHL defender. Coburn looks like he's regressed about 50% from where he was playing last year, which I chalk up to trying too hard.

Sure, we're missing Parent (a rookie) and Jones, but neither of them strike me as pushing this defense all that further up in the rankings. Jones has his positives and his negatives, but he definitely needs a safe and reliable partner and I'm not sure who that is unless you're going to put him with Timonen.

Lets go Flyers! I think with the line changes we might be better off, though I still don't understand how Knuble isn't on the 4th.

According to THN, we have the 6th best defense in the NHL. Granted it was before the injuries, but 6th even with what we were going into the season with? This is how they had the top 10

1. Detroit
2. San Jose
3. Anaheim
4. Dallas
5. Montreal
6. Philadelphia
7. Calgary
8. Florida
9. Chicago
10. Vancouver

Right now, only Timonen and Coburn were playing for us last year. And they are no longer paired together. So all three pairings have less than ten games together, no wonder everyone looks lost

you guys are ridiculous!
i can see the TC spent hours creating that thread and none of you complemented him???
there were more "good jobs" from Sharks fans than from you guys!

anyways, to make my post a little less negative, here's a link to watch hockey games online...
http://hockeywebcasts.com/
it's full of justin.tv links

good luck today! it's gonna be a very boring game. it's a b2b game so sharkies are probly gonna be very tired.

About 50 people compliment MSE on his GDTs every game. Yes, they are amazing.

well this one has to be an exception to the rule, then.

btw, i just found a reason for your guys' losses... GDTs should not be posted a day earlier of the game day... i am serious. even if it's posted at 11:59pm; it's gonna be a loss

Let's not get into a bleeping contest over the GDTs, please. All compliments are appreciated but the Flyers' fan have seen the template for the GDT going back to the middle of last season.

OK, back to the Phoenix-Montreal game.

Flyers win; 4-2

I know this because like McFly, I went back to the future, and actually took the sports almanac.

Trust me, we know how lucky we are - we get a history lesson with every GDT, and they're amazing. MSE gets a little sheepish when we heap praise on him, but we'll do it anyways!

I have no idea what to expect this game, so I'll just prepare mentally for the worst, and hope for the best.

I still say the reason we are losing is the fact that the "GDT" tag is Devils red, not Flyers orange.

I think this is one game where I'll be in bed watching rather than sitting with my laptop right here. So I probably won't be posting.

LETS GO FLYERS!
