And of course you don't. There wasn't one person in the Hotstove who thought it was illgegit. Tough, but fair is what the entire league is saying except a couple posters on this board.

Even if it was boarding, it was never going to be suspension worthy and thus isn't worth discussing anymore. Hope the kid's okay, move on. Stop sulking.

I hate the way Carbonneau coaches tonight...
I have no problem with how much Laraque played tonight. He was out there to make sure that Phoenix didn't keep taking runs at our skilled players. The game was already won. It was time to keep BGL out there are keep Phoenix honest. I actually think that is terrific coaching by Carbo.

Great game by the Habs. Phoenix tried to get rough with us and it backfired. We showed alot of character tonight and showed that we won't be pushed around. I am very proud of this team.

Rumor was he wanted to tear Sauer's throat out with his teeth but Koivu convinced him it is better to play hockey the next few years then to spend time behind bars for murder

The hit was legit. End of story. The hit itself wasn't what did it. It was the impact of when Kosty fell to the ice. Watch the replay, the back of his head hit the glass but then he tumbled down head first and the side of his face took the brunt. He had a real welt next to his eye and he looked like a damn boxer. Habs responded the right way, not trying to injure any Yotes in retaliation. Anyway, SK47 wasn't crying, although Saku could handle that too (see Price after 5-4 OT loss to the Caps in January). He's like our captain, leader AND team psychologist.

I hope there is a picture of the helmet swap. Pretty damn funny and a great sign of the mood of the Canadiens.

Andrei looked out of it. I know if one of my siblings was looking like that I would be upset and distracted. Sergei showed just how close he and his brother are by going out there the next shift and sticking up for him.

I think Andrei will be ok. Looks like he hit his face/eye on the ice which knocked him out. Maybe a concussion. I hope the league reviews the hit for a head shot, but I doubt much comes from it.

Guillemin i know your a pretty fair guy, but please, what did the league say about

a) putting ur hand up or leading with your arm (which he did)
- it's a no no

b) hits to the head ?
- a bigger no no

therefore I must conclude that the shot was illegal, whether or not the people on Hotstove (it was half and half btw) think that it was illegal or not it is still illegal

alot of illegal stuff is accepted and done everyday, people in canada smoke dubes and the u.s. president declares war without congress, just because it's accepted doesn't mean it's right

never follow the herd

Even if you are right, which I don't concede (I see a hit to the chest and follow through unfortunately contacting his head), and the hit was illegal, there's no point making such a scene. If it was a suspension worthy offense, then yeah go nuts, but this was no hit from behind or nasty cross check. It was a tough hockey play.

He didn't try and hurt the kid. There's only a few people in the league who play that game. Sauer isn't one of them, and as for the ridiculous suggestions of coach conspiracy, Gretsky certainly isn't one of them.

If it's late in the third, and no penalty costs us the game, then rage on. But we won handily, and complaining about the hit doesn't make Andrei better. So I don't get it.

Fair enough, I wanted blood earlier... now i've cooled down we beat them Sauer didn't get pummeled but BGL took someone and they got tame at the end.

Also I don't believe Sauer is a bad guy or anything, I just think it's an illegal hit and that's that.

The majority of my anger later was mostly directed at the refs, who year after year promise to "crack down on stuff" and never do. I don't believe there are any reffs in any other Major Sports league that are worse then Hockeys. We won't ever be a major sport again in the u.s. if they can't get their act 2gether

It has to be hard seeing your brother getting helped off the ice. I'm sure Sergei will be just fine by the next game & hopefully Andrei has a quick recovery.
