.

Hmmm I shall have tread carefully...WHAT IS A CLEAN hit? I retract my earlier comment...it was deemed a legal hit by the officials on the ice at the time...

I really do think there is a problem with illegal hits to the head...

Last time I heard it was a bodycheck not a headcheck so we should go for the body not the head...as far as I AM concerned hockey players heads are 100% off limits and any strike or blow to the head should be met with lengthy suspensions...same with hits from behind a la downie...jones...and hollweg...

Edit...did not see the vomit but it looked like he was going to puke and I thought to myself at the time wow he looks like he is gonna puke and I was thinking well the athletic trainer etc was probably saying let it all out Andrei its ok to puke now infront of thousands of people.

So it may be a concussion and a dislocated shoulder....well can we say at least 1 month???

I think that we have enough depth to be fine without him for that period of time. My main problem is, will he changed the way he was playing when he'll return....that's my biggest question...

I hope AK46 has nothing and learns from this hit to keep his head up.

Sauer.

I watched it a number of times and imo it was head-hunting with forearm and elbow up high. Cheap hit.

Regardless again if Komisarek lables someone like that we are all jeers and cheers, aside from the fact that Kostitsyn shouldnt be goin into the danger zone like that.

For some reason, I always thought they both came hand in hand.

Yup, dirty hit. A clean hit is when a player hits his body with his own. This was not clean. Sauer literally drove Kostitsyn's head into the boards. I wouldn't say that it was an attempt to injure, but he hit hi the wrong way.

"It was a clean check, no question about that." -Pednault

I guess he'll be out for at leats a month too. You don't want to rush back a player who suffered a concussion.

They do, basically. If someone loses conciousness from a blow to the head, they're considered to have a concussion.

Sauer drove Kostitsyn's head into the boards...and clearly. I don't care if he did with his shoulder, his elbow or in this case, with his forearms/arms up high (at head level).

What the hell will it take for us to change the definition of a "clean hit"??? Someone to die???

A HIT TO THE HEAD IS NOT A CLEAN HIT.
A good clean body check is a thing of beauty. Nothing beautiful there

If that isn't boarding, then no check against the boards is boarding. I agree. Head shot all the way. The call should be boarding though

In Jr there is a head shot penalty. How many concussions does the NHL need to see

Per Carbo, he saw A-KOS a couple minutes ago and he was doing a bit better, even if he was still dizzy.

ok, so it's a headshot, with the forearms and directly on the boards. But it's clean??? what the heck is wrong with some people.

Really? He didn't even go to the hospital?

Then you can basically rule out the dislocated shoulder, broken ribs scenario... no?

The way he fell down on the ice did the greatest of the damage..

I just hope Kosty still plays with the fire he's had so far this season.

He was getting much more confident with the puck, hopefully this doesn't change that.

Beeing a bit woozy is an after-effect of a concussion.
