Robert Lang

Anyone else surprised by this guy?

MUCH better than Bonk and Smolinksi so far, and he's developed some chemistry with Sergei.

The way he's looking so far, 25 goals isn't out of the question.

He's great. Bonus +1 for him for looking like he has a diaper on.

I don't think you can even compare the 3 players. They are 3 different type centers, Lang being by far the most offensively talented.

We always get these "Rate Gainey's moves" threads when a player underpeformes.
Now....Rate his moves so far this season.
-Laraque.
-Tanguay.
-Lang.

I know he's a different type of player. I just meant that basically all 3 were brought in to center the 3rd line.

Very good move by Gainey by any standards.

Incredible, awesome, crazy good move if you're comparing him with Smolinsky and Bonk, wich you shouldn't do. Lang is and was always better than these guys.

I love that goofy lookin' smile he always has on his face.

Not even comparable to Smolinski, the reigning Labatt Nordic Cup champion.

What I like about Lang is he does a lot of the little things that go unnoticed. Great pick by Gainey.

This is so true. He is also a very good faceoff man.

Not surprised at all

54 points last year on the 2nd line, being keyed on probably playing with no one aand on a crutty team

no surprise there, ppl who are surprised are the same ones who didn't realise Tanguay would be good too... i mean 59pts on a checking line no pp time... c'mon guys Gainey did it this year

He's also a right-handed shot which we needed.

Are you serious?

Robert Lang is not exactly an unknown commodity. This guys been in the league for years (and consistently piling up points) how is it possible you didn't realize he would be a huge improvement over Radek Bonk and Bryan Smolinkski?!?

Robert Lang is like Bonk v.2.0 to me. He's a very constant player in his career like the New habs are. He's the best third line center we could get IMO!

How can you notice them then?

Always like Lang since his Pittsburgh years...

Has nothing to do with Bonk. He's incredibly more skilled.

I agree, bonk was a great player in his debut, but dramatically decreased in performance when we got him. Lang, on the opposite, was a solid performer without a bad year.

I liked him a lot as a Penguin. Funny to see him on the same team as Kovalev and Kostopoulos. The Canadiens should bring it a step further and get Hrdina, Straka and Jagr
