I liked when Sauer wouldn't go near Laraque but fought Kostopolous.

Dont suprise me about Keith Yandle back a few years ago with the Moncton Wildcats he would start everything and be scared to fight.I thought where he got older maybe he might fight but obviosly from tonight's game nothing has changed.

Sauer did his job, the ice did it's job, momentum did it's job, the boards did their job you know who didn't?

The Ref

The damage? F the damage! I hope there is NONE! I hope he's 100% rearing to go 2morrow!

However

Sauer needs to be punished, it's a hit to the head, and he led with the arm. regardless of the results and the extent of the injury, whether or not Sauer got beat up or not by BGL, the League needs to do THEIR Job now

that's what it's about, people doing their freaking JOB!

I agree with Ape Clutch.

Besides, znk, I just watched the top 10 hits from Komi on Youtube and NONE of his hits are with his arms up to the head. Maybe some could've been called for boarding but IMO none were as bad as what Sauer did.

Maybe I need to watch the hit another time but to me it was clearly a penalty.

I think Sauer's hit was a charge, but nothing more. I liked how the Habs reacted though, showed they wouldn't let the other team run our players.

It really feels good to know that our team can finally stand up to any other team in the league and that it won't get bullied on the ice.
I live in Edmonton and have seen plenty of Georges Laraque with the Oilers. However, I have to say that I have rarely seen what he was able to do tonight. In fact, part of the reason the Oilers got rid of him in 2006 was because they felt he wasn't doing the enforcer role properly. They felt that he was too passive, and didn't do a good job in sticking up for his teammate. On Edmonton radio, Laraque actually defended himself and told everyone that it was MacTavish who discouraged him from fighting.

Seeing Laraque tonight really harkened me back to those criticisms of him. He was exactly what the Oilers hoped he would be, and it was so refreshing to see. The Canadiens have always been a team that gets rattled after incidents like that, and we'd see Langdon/Murray/Begin/Souray/Komisarek try to stick up for our players. But never have I seen a Canadiens player control the physical tempo as much as Laraque did tonight (mind you, I was way too young to have seen Nilan at his prime). It was very satisfying knowing that we have a true policeman, somebody who can stick up for his team. I just hope that he continues like this, and doesn't resort to the happy-go-lucky passive game that he played in Edmonton.

BGL should have done his damn job and given him no choice, who cares about the extra 2 minutes.

We need an enforcer with a head on his shoulders. He did what he was supposed to do.

Just watched the hit again on RDS and it's not as dirty as I thought, but it's still a penalty. The first part of the hit is just solid & legal...than he brings his arm up into Kostitsyn's face...that's clearly elbowing or whatever you want to call it.

Anyways, I'm quite happy of Big Georges. Tanguay is also excellent and Lang is okay.

Anyone watch the TSN highlights? I just watched and the guy said;

"Andrei Kostitsyn will be examined tomorrow, but he's apparently feeling a lot better."

That's good news.

BGL did his job. It's just Kostopoulos who was too eager to jump in on Sauer. He should have waited for Laraque to settle the count with Sauer.

If he beats Lidstrom in the +/- department while maintaining the offensive production... he might get nominated for the Norris...

The fact that he was able to stand on his leg (even with help) 2 minutes after the hit was good news for me...

Saku was just telling him to relax and forget about it.
-----------------------
Geez i wish you would never be my captain.Because my right hand would go right in the middle of your face.Koivu prob told him that he's in good hand right now and that after the game he will(if iwas the captain anyway) go to the hospital with him and to try the focus the best he can.Knowing that other like BGL can also do the job.Actually the entire club responded.

Never i would never say *Forgot about it d00d , the game's more important than your broda mouahhaha*
