I Think contrary to my genius opinion, he is flying with Tanguay on his wing, and although I would LOVE for him to play with A. Kost instead of Lats, the latter needs koivu more then the former.
Koivu is illin it this year with Tangs and Lats and honestly I can see him hit 80pts for the first time.
I find it hilarious how a lot of people expected to see Tanguay get 80 points but Koivu 50, as if Koivu would just disappear whenever Tanguay was setting up/scoring goals.

The only player I like more then Koivu is Markov... I love him, but it is true I did expect a passfest between the two of them. However I had forgotten that Koivu can score goals (it's just he never plays with people who set him up) and I did know that Tanguay can score but never really let that u kno... come to my ... euh... yeah I just ignored it i think :p
Anyways I said 80pts but the way they are playing I wanted to say 100 :p

I have always been a strong saku koivu fan and supporter. Full marks for being with us his entire career through thick and thin...Although recently his needless hooking penalties have been irksome for many...however he is a very very good hockey player and I feel he has always been a formidable force...everyone on our team is boosted because the team is so illin right now even a chris nilan would look good...
Not really but you get the idea...Koivu is doing well because he finally has a great supporting cast which is helpful and fruitful for all our forwards...
I would say he's always had chemistry with Latendresse (2 seasons) and finally has a awesome winger in Tanguay. I would not be surprised if he's getting his best season since the year Ryder was great (2 season ago)!

It's ok to play Saku less and guys like Dandenault, Lapierre and Kostopoulos more when we win by a large margin. Saku is prone to getting tired and taking games 'off' and now we have the luxury to use him when we need him the most, and he's been playing great so far this year with more limited minutes so everybody wins imo. Also in games like tonight against Phoenix, I think everyone was happy to see Laraque getting more icetime... that won't happen when the score is close or in the playoffs.
And I don't mind Saku playing twelve minutes a game if he's putting up 3 points per game I noticed it too, that he was getting less ice-time, but even so, he's producing at a relatively good rate.

Nothing against Laraque or anyone else in the team.
Just noticed that Saku is taking pretty short shifts, as a good captain does. Trying just to give something back to the people, that have been telling the past few years, that Saku is a second liner and nothing else.
Well...now his icetime is like 4th liners icetime.
Some of you must feel good now.
