I agree with you for once !! That was a sweet move by the captain, recomforting Sergei all worried about his big Brother, it was so cute to watch. There's a reason why Saku is the Captain of this team.

Saku looks really great in the past 3 games. I hope it continues for him !!

Koivu will finish the year with more points than Kovalev, you guys hear it first here !!

i hope now all the people that talk against Saku...will shut up and let him play and be our captain for more than this season.

SAKU FANS...KEEP CHEERING SAKU AND FORGET THE ANTI-KOIVU CLUB

GO SAKU GO!

*Koivu is tied first for +/- at +7... Markov and Komisarek in top 5...NICE!

He's not used on the P.K anymore and he's on the 2nd PP unit wave, his ES time is pretty similar.

Well PK = blocked shots on the foot. He really can't have that.

Saku told last week in the Finnish media that he would so love to stay another year in Montreal after this season, but he isn't quite sure, if the team wants it

also an article from bob gainey in french where he said that he cant make any favors for any players (topic was about koivu resigning)

I know its very anecdotal but it just gives me a bad feeling. I hope Koivu stays.

Well Saku finally has a good winger. I'm honestly not surprised.

The only thing that would make me happier is seeing him hoist the cup.

Salary cap is gonna make for some hard decisions specially for aging vets who are having success and will be due for raises. To see him walk away is going to be hard . To see him walk away and us get nothing in return even harder. I hope it doesnt end like Sundin saga.

Most all guys in Montreal who wear a C end up getting dealt eventually .

Since 1990 Captian who were dealt.

Guy Carbonneau,Kirk Muller Mike Keane,Pierre Turgeon,Vincent Damphousse

I would rather the team make room to re-sign Koivu than to re-sign a guy like Tanguay...nothing against Tanguay but I'd rather have the leadership, heart, intangibles, etc that Koivu has than the 20 or so extra points Tanguay will bring you.

I think his ice time has more to do with his foot than anything.

As to next season, it's a moot point right now. Komisarek has to be the top priority. Then there are some tough decisions to make.

I'm pretty sure money will be no issue if you guys want him to stay. It's not about money anymore..we all know what Saku wants now. And he feels he has the team around him, that can make it all the way.

Koivu finally gets an established talented winger he can mesh with. I'm happy the captain is doing well. It's only going to get harder though as he'll be matched with the opposing team's best line should this success continue. Hopefully Plex line will get hot.

He'll play for a million like Teemu did once, to get a chance to win the cup.

Nothing would make Saku happier than beating Teemus ass in the finals.

Except for maybe beating Minnesota in the finals.
I'm sure he wants to show his brother that he isn't just an old second liner. I can imagine Mikko and Saku having a bigger side bet this year, than ever before.

Tanguay must be the best regular winger since Mark Recchi. Or could he be even better. If he stays healthy all year (knock wood), his old career numbers will be improved by some margin. I wonder if he can beat his younger brother, even.

A big challenge for Gainey though, who to keep ... maybe he gets some kind of package deal, for another successful Cup run.

Is that why Grabovski got traded to Toronto? Classy Gainey wanted him to feel more at home.
