I think it's funny that when Malik was leading the team in +/- it was a non-stat that shouldn't exist and now a star player is leading the team in it and it's a big deal. Not disagreeing with you FLY, I think it's great he is leading the team in that category, I just find it funny that for Malik the stat shouldn't exist, but for Zherdev it show how defensively responsible he is.

I think he should get somewhat an ovation, I mean he was a huge factors to the playoffs for 2 straight years and he brought some grit to a team that had none. Come on, he gave us the best moments with Marty, the waving of the stick and then scoring, Pushing him into the net, their little kissing spree, the handshake that wasn't. He was maybe the first player that I've seen get under Brodeur's skin and then some. For the time he was here, you could argue he was as valuable as aany player on the Rangers, (except Henrik or Jagr). He deserves a little appreciation for what he gave us, at Marty's expense!!

I know it's Avery, but, I just can't see him touching Lundqvist. I can see everyone else but Lundqvist get 'Avery-ized'

That's just me though.

Should be a good one.

This game has to be memorable. Hoping for at least a point. (Really hoping for a win.)

He values his pretty little face too much to try anything with Orr on the ice...who knows, maybe he'll play it straight and hope to be back at the deadline once he gets bored of dallas

I agree, at the same time it does mean something. Just when Malik was leading the team in plus minus, it did mean he was contributing more than he was a liability. I think we can say the same thing about Zherdev. No ones going to say hes the best defensive player on the team, but we can all say we have been impressed with his back checking that seemed to have been criticized harshly before the season started. In fact as the games have gone by he has become more and more defensively aware, and the possibility of him becoming one of our best 2 way players isn't out of the realm of possibility. With Malik it seemed like the +/- wasnt telling the whole story. The same could be said about Zherdev but I dont think that from what we've seen so far out of the kid we can be surprised that hes leading the team in +/-.

Watching that video of Avery makes me miss him and what he brought to the team. But thats in the past and I bet you we see the usual Avery antics tomorrow. He just wants to get his name in the newspaper, cause thats all he's about. I think its safe to say we'll will see him running around stirring up **** and most likely messing with Lundqvist and quite possibly going over-board so he'll get sport front page on Tuesday. That being said, LETS GO RANGERS!!!!

I loved Avery when he was here as he was one of those players that teams just hated playing against. I really wouldn't be surprised at all if does something to piss off the Rangers and every Rangers fan tomorrow night.

After all, when he was a Ranger he pissed off every team he played against and that's why we loved him, but that was when he was here in Ranger blue . .

Watching that video reminded me how fun it was to watch Avery on the ice in a Rangers sweater. I miss him, but wouldn't be upset if Voros laid him out with a clean hit tomorrow night.

for those going to the game tommorow, what are you gonna do when avery touches the puck?
Will you boo him each time, or cheer him once before the game? each possesion?

I loved Avery, but I'm glad we didn't get him back. To me, he's another player. I won't cheer for him because he's no longer a ranger, and it's not like he's a legend that gets the love no matter what. I won't boo him either. He was a favorite player of mine, I enjoyed watching him in a Rangers jersey. I say this as if I have tickets though lol

Ill try to pick up a pair late, but I doubt it

I dont think he will run Henrik because he seemed to be pretty good friends with him. Also, I think it would be kind of weird trying to hurt/run Henrik while playing on the same team as his brother.

Heh, well it is a meaningless stat for the most part, I just found it funny. But in seriousness he hasn't hurt the team really with his defensive play.

Avery will get booed, mark my words. Not by me, but the majority will boo him. And by the end of the night I expect everyone will be booing him, you know hes going to have his best game of the year vs us and cause a lot of havoc.

I am telling myself the truth when I say Avery picked his spots and for as many times he was in the spotlight, there were equal times he wasn't "in to it" (or couldn't get the opposition to bite). All that said, I was/am an Avery fan.

I will be shocked if Avery tries anything tomorrow night. MSG will treat him well and he will do everything in his power to get on the scoresheet without a PIM to his name. I believe Avery still has respect for NY. But as for New Jersey, that's a different story. Avery will make headlines Wednesday night.
