I've met Koivu a few times. I wouldn't call him selfish, but maybe I'm bias because he signed my jersey and has given me one of his hockey sticks.

*Which I would sleep with if my g/f would let me*

Girlfriends

But describing Koivu as distant and a little arrogant. Those are two traits that I noticed as well.

Ironically, the man in your avatar has an unpleasant personality.

I'd say about 25% of people at my work, in the street, everywhere are a little unpleasant.

I don't expect hockey players to be any different.

But I don't like them for their charm or neighborly attitude..

I would probably take a bullet for Koivu. Like.. if I was in a crowd and I saw a gunman going for him.. I'd like to think I would have the guts to jump and save his life.

I'd be jumping right in there with ya, Ayman. Then after he's taken to safety:

THE HUNT...IS ON

I think their relation is not the same anymore, since the day Koivu spoke in French

Anyway it's nice to see the most under-evaluated player in the HABS history (well by a part of the French medias) achieve that. A lot of fans will always also remember him for his leadership in the community!

Had he played 2001-02 and the lockout season he would likely have at least 720 and be closing in on Geoffrion for 9th all-time. Not even going to mention all the injuries and the Jim Campbell-Andrei Bashkirov years.

Chronic liars are usually smooth about it. They don't squirm and fidget and they lie with a straight face.

I think proud is the right word for him off the ice. Hell of a businessman though. When I met him, he was very courteous but curt and others have told me the same that you have.

What the heck? I'm a hater because I'm wondering if he will get to 1000? Koivu is my favourite player. No doubt if he wasn't injured so much he would easily reach it. It's unlikely he reaches 1000... he'll have to play 5 more seasons after this (he is already almost 34) and average close to 70 points per season. Not happening. But anyway, enough of this. Koivu is on fire!

''I've got to get the Swede '' the Finnish captain said of Naslund with a smile. ''When I first got here a long time ago, I'd look at the names on the wall and the Stanley Cups, but I was just trying to make the team. Now, 13 years later, it's hard to believe I'm getting close to the top 10.''
