Every time I drop from the Wings board to the N-E boards, I see Fuhr as the most impartial Sens fan.

Kudos to you.

Hasek? He gave us half a season, if he counts. Other then that ya I think so. Halak still has to play up to his capabilities but when he becomes more accomplished, that will be a true statement.

Murray wants to give him 30 starts by January in the AHL and then reasses the situation. I have my fingers crossed he will be solid like I beleive he will be.

No rebounds
No goals on the first shot
No weak perimeter goals

Now asking for much, his track record and what I have seen of him, gives me faith he can do it.

We should be nice and remember that it was not the good old Hasek....wait a sec it's was old but not good!
Halak is great and maybe could keep Price honest. The diiference is that Halak sort of came out of nowhere and less attention. He is a keeper.

if denis keeps up his sick numbers in hamilton, I think it opens up a whole new set of option for gainey.

Yes but Denis is better than the AHL. The only problem is, can he go back to being good enough for the NHL?

Alright, I'll take your word for it.

It's just my experience with Sens fans has me wondering if he's serious or making fun of us. If he's serious, kudos to him, too, for not being a jerk about the Canadiens' positives.

Sure the opening poster seem to be a nice Ottawa fan but no way I would simpatize with their goalie problem.

Not more accomplished then Lalime yet. I think Halak will be, but he has to still do it.

Lalime had some very good seasons for us before the lockout (a 36 and 39 win season) plus in 41 career playoff games for us he has a 1.77GA and a .926sv%. He had a couple bad games which people point to and remember but they forget his brilliance in 2002 or 2003 playoffs.

I agree completely with what you said about Lalime, it's too bad he has struggled to maintain his game after that bad run. As a Habs fan who also backs the Sens (partially because I live here and see so many games), I always felt he got a bum rap from selective memory.

Halak is gonna make great trade bait down the road because we all know that eventually he'll want to be a#1.

Before the season started I said Halak would get the games vs teams like Flo,Isles,Atl etc... and pad his stats.

Well I was right so far, his numbers look incredible after 2 games.

Yeah you must've seen last nights game right? Gotta give credit to Vokoun too. If florida wants to be a good team in a couple years that guy is definitely a good center peice.

He's been great even when their team has been terrible. Must give credit where it's due.

But yeah... Halak and Price look to be a scary duo if they both wind up being how they were projected to be or better. But looking at what people expect from Price, better would mean 82 shutouts in one season

I honestly think Halak will be somethere in the Price range(no pun intended at all) of skill when both are maxed out in development. Halak give or take skill wise by 1-2%

Halak was brilliant last night, just like he was in the AHL.

My only question about Halak is does he have it in him to play 55-65 games a season as a legit number one?

Has never played more then 44 games in a season since leaving the QMJHL. A remarkable goalie, I only wonder if he can handle the workload of 60 games a season.

That is my only potential concern with Halak.

He responded well everytime he played in every level he played, so I don't see why not.

It's ok, I was somewhat jealous of the Sens success while my Habs sucked over the last decade. This makes us even

See I agree with that train of thought but going from 44 games to 60 games is an extra 900 minutes. It would have been nice if Halak got the 60GP season in the AHL, so there would be substance there.

Toskala and Bryzgalov both had 60 start seasons under there belt at the AHL level. But then again Pascal LeClaire never had the 60 start season before he became number one last year.
