We all know about the cardiac troubles he had to go through when he was young.. So Kovy's work ethic has always been a ? in his carreer, again this year some are saying he is getting lazy again.. So recently, top prospect Alexei Cherepanov (19 years old) passed away for what looks like to be a heart attack, some are saying Cherepanov was born with cardiac anomaly.. My question is, do you think its something running in Kovy's head and something that could affect his play at the same time?

I'm not worried about Kovalev and i think people, surprise surprise, are making a bigger deal out of this then need be. There's rumours that he's pouting now because he isn't on the first PP unit, completely ignoring that the Habs don't have a # 1 or # 2 PP unit, who goes on the PP first often comes down to who was just on the ice
Kovalev's hit 4 posts, and right now, you can tell he's pressing because he's trying to do everything by himself. He'll find him game, i'm not worried one bit
Hes just not getting the bounces right now, it seems the pucks are sliding off his stick right before he shoots and the puck is bouncing when he tries to dangle. Its gonna come and his line is gonna score in bunches when it does.

How is Kovy getting lazy? He lost 10lbs this summer. I find he is working hard, just a bit snakebitter early on, doesn't make him lazy.

The guy is still playing 20 minutes a game. Nothing to pout about !
It amaze me how some media can be so severe towards some players and at the same time be so kind towards the same player when things go well. Its unfair towards kovy that as soon as he thus not score goals he is a lazy player and a head case in the locker room. When he thus not score goals they show all the bad plays and forget to show what he did well. No one but no one in the hole montreal media mention the time were kovalev was on the ice with his line on the power play for the hole two minutes in the offensive zone. Sure that two minutes they spend on the ice did not result into a goal but the passing plays they were doing from stick to stick was a thing of beauty. A hole two minutes of making the panthers run after them. The only reason they did not score was because of vokuns play in goal. How no one mention that sequence is beyond me really.
If 3/4 posts go in we are having a kovy appreciation thread instead.
He's playing fine... the points will come
One thing that has to happen though is that Kovy/Markov should not be split on the PP... the PP is so much more dangerous if both of them are on the ice. Kovy/Markov stay together and Koivu's line goes with Hamrlik.

Im not saying he is lazing this year, some people have been saying this (la zone, 110%).. What I personally think is that he doesnt work well, he tries to do too much by himself, doesnt use his linemates well..
