If you ask me I don't think it was due to a lack of effort, but he didn't seem to find chemistry on this team. He had been nursing an injury as well so that didnt help.

Well, there were reports that he was hanging around the vistors locker room more than the visiting team, so that might have something to do with it.

He never got it going. He was invisible in camp - they gave him a few shots, but he didnt show any speed. He was put on a line with Drury and Naslund last night and showed absolutely nothing. When you have younger, faster guys like Korpikoski, Prucha and Fritsche all sitting, it was more addition by subtraction Especially when his 1.0 mil contract was eating up some valuable cap space going forward.

I'm sure he'll find a team somewhere. It just didnt work out here. We were all scratching our heads over this move from the start, but maybe it was just to create a little more competition in camp to get the level of play up. A 6-2-1 start would suggest that it worked.

I think the two games he played were for the reason of just trying to showcase him a bit and get some interest.

He stunk though... To the point where it hurt the Rangers to have him out there.

Good too because now they can bring up a 7th defenseman.

Eh, oh well. Hope he gets picked up and can have an impact elsewhere. Sorry it didn't work out.

Hey... it also says that Jason Ward was placed on waivers. What say we bring him back?

I heard he's a good PKer, but again, the Rangers have one of the better PKs in the league and seem to be fine in that department as well. He was basically ending up as a waste up cap space and a roster spot. Best of luck to him elsewhere.
He was just overly mediocre. That's really it. Redundant is true as well. I do hope he gets picked up and can get some playing time elsewhere.

The Islanders could sure use him.

Hey man. I've seen The Gaslight Anthem twice in like a month while I'm up here in Albany. They are great live. That album is awesome.

A likely placed that he might get picked up is the Canucks since they need some forwards after a couple of theirs were inured.

What? Why would you insult Blair Betts? He's a fine 4th line player. Betts has a lot more skill than Rismiller appeared to have.

Huge insult and flat out wrong to compare Rissmiller to Betts. Completely different players, including the fact that Rissmiller is awful.

Guess it depends whether or not Renney wants to use them or not.

Ron Wilson was a pretty big Rissmiller fan during their time in SJ, perhaps TOR could have interest.

I thought Rissmiller was actually pretty impressive his first game.
But I guess most of you decided to hate him and want him gone long before then.. That makes sense

No doubt. Being a good defensive forward who is good on the draws and a great penalty killer is enough to give Drury a free pass. What's wrong with Betts? i think he does his job rather well......and he isn't getting 7 million for it either.

Not saying this is what they SHOULD do, but this is what I think they WILL do...

This move will be very closely followed by:

(1) Prucha gone, and then
(2) Shanny back.

Added the missing piece to that list.

agreed. I think it'd be a crime to trade Prucha away. Players with great hands and his heart are rare. "more guts than a slaughterhouse"

dawes better put some pucks in the net soon. he's not doing much out there. he's like when you're in little league and everyone hit puberty but he's still got bald armpits and he can't keep up with all the other kids who are starting to grow peach-fuzz mustaches.. but his parents paid his fees and the team is stuck with him cos he's a nice kid and gets along with everyone. the other kids invite him to play street-hockey cos he owns a net...but he's just not cutting it on the team. maybe next year...if he hits puberty.

i say we can package him, prucha and one other and hopefully get a strong, goal-scorer...
