Why Nodl instead of Giroux? I have not had enough time to cycle through this thread to see if someone asked that. I want to see Giroux get his shot at a permanent position on the team.
I am cetainly not taking anything away from Nodl, I like him and have followed him for quite sometime (mainly because when I first saw him, knowing the right way to pronounce his name, I called him noodle). I am just not sure if he is ready to get the call up yet, although we shall see soon enough. I went to a playoff game last year vs. Wilks and thought he looked non existent and slightly out of place. Maybe he has looked better this year but...

Because Nodl has outplayed Giroux. Simple as that. Pro sports remain a pure meritocracy in most instances with some complicating factors.

I dont think its as the fact that Nodl has outplayed Giroux but more likely just a case of Giroux not playing well and Nodl being the next guy to call and he happens to be playing decent. its not like Nodl is playing so well he just cant be denied and leapfrogged giroux.

through 5 games Nodl has tallied 3pts and is +1, whereas Giroux has 2 pts and is -6.
if Giroux was playing better than Nodl he'd absolutely have been the first one up...everyone from Holmgren down was expecting him to make this team.

Yeah, I totally agree. What I meant was that it seems like the reason Nodl got the call up instead of Giroux was more because Giroux played himself off of the roster and not as much because Nodl played so well he got the call instead of Giroux. Its not like Nodl started the season with 4 goals in 5 games or soemthing, hes not exactly tearing it up, it just seems that Giroux has played so poorly they just went with the next guy in line that was playing decent and it happened to be Nodl.
Where does he play ? I am guessing Metropolit will have the privilege to center Cote and Asham whereas Nodl will play on a more offensive line ?

Hes a winger. I'm guessing he will be on a line with Carter and upshall. I think they are putting briere back at Center so Metro will get to center the goonsquad 4th line.
