is he off to a good start? I don't know how much is expected from a rookie in his league.

"My dad's favourite team has been the Habs all along," Kristo said. "When I was a baby, there's a picture of me with a Habs outfit on when I was about 2 years old."

The 6-foot, 172-pound right-winger even grew up knowing Canadiens mythology.

"My dad got me into hockey and into the Habs, and ever since back then I always liked Rocket (Richard)," Kristo said

Habs Inside/Out is freaking awesome.... They are a great source for Habs news...

I'd never doubt them. If they say something is a done deal... its done.

Lets be clear though... this is the World Jr A tournament.... Not the World Junior Championships.

Habs prospect Danny Kristo has been named to the U.S. Junior Select team which will compete in the World Junior A Challenge, Nov. 2-9 at Camrose, Alberta. Kristo was one of 22 players selected from the United States Hockey League.
A good performance in this tournament will definetely help his WJC stock though... and a bad performance would kill his chances to make the team IMO.

Habs Inside/Out is just a blog though & you have to pay attention to who's written what. Sometimes it's Stubbs making the posts, other times it's a rank amateur.

Habs Inside/Out had quotes from two different scouts yesterday or the day before, and one of them said he could be playing in the NCAA right now. NCAA freshman are generally 19, and Kristo just turned 18 in April, so I guess he's doing ok.

I was unaware of that as well.
They must moderate it though.

Last year late in the season they brought in one non-Gazette guy blogging... this year they have four or five. The articles on the main page are mostly Boone, Stubbs, Hickey, and Mio.

He's following in MaxPac's footsteps - he won rookie of the year!

NP, I remember that ridiculous piece they had about Janet Jackson that didn't even make sense.

What's so hard to believe about a 2nd round NHL draft pick making Team USA for a World Junior A tournament? Most players in this tournament haven't been drafted. It's not like the WJC.

I never said it was hard to believe... But for the reasons stated above, it's safer to rely on many sources.
