I am absolutely pissed.

This jacka$$ spends the whole summer waiting, waiting and waiting...and now TWO FULL WEEKS into the season he's only 2 weeks away from making a decision? What a f***ing joke. What has changed since early September? I will go absolutely bat**** insane if he ends up signing some discount deal with his precious and beloved NYR.

He has seen which teams do well early season. I wouldnt be surprised to see Buffalo getting him signed, either.

After his jerking around with BG this summer, Sundin is not worthy to wear the CH. Let him rot somewhere else.

Trade Higgins, Begin and Dandy for picks. saves you 5 million. Habs are 1.1 million under he cap.

Offer Sundin 1yr, 6 million dollar contract.

3rd line....S Kostitsyn Sundin Lang

Okay...it will never happen.

I agree, the two week into the season thing has me puzzled. At least Niedermeyer and Selanne last season waited until after Christmas to make a decision on coming back. I can only see Sundin going back to Toronto. He'll pad a few more stats and be seen as the only focus on an otherwise dismal team. The only reason this won't happen is due to Wilson questioning his leadership credentials. The Rangers have a nice team dynamic with Dubinsky and Voros giving the team a plumber, hard working look. Sundin would only bring the Jagresque primadona factor back to MSG.

cut out $1, $1.75, and $1.85.. while only adding about $1M.. and you have about $4.5 for Sundin
Henry? Seriously?

We're rolling along nicely already. Our team is pretty awesome without making any changes.

Why bring in a potentially disruptive influence like Sundin? I mean if he was serious about winning a cup and being part of the Canadiens he would have signed before we picked up Lang. Right now I don't see a spot for him.

Ottawa probably has the greatest need for a Sundin. However, signing him wouldn't help the Sens do more than make the 2009 playoffs. Sundin doesn't seem to want to play for more than one season.

Before Lang: yes, now however, who's he going to bump to wing? How much of a distraction will he be coming in the middle of the season? Is his heart really in it?

I don't know, I think Gainey should make due diligence but it won't be the end of the world if he signs elsewhere.

As for Ottawa, they need a goaltender and a #1 defenceman way before they need Sundin.

apparently on a toronto radio station today they said SUNDIN would like to play in Montreal. So i guess expect it to get crazy over the coming weeks . 2-3 more weeks and will know for sure

our last game in Toronto is Nov 8 then we dont play in TO again until APRIL 4TH.From a pure stand point of not having to deal with the media crap it works out.

His salary would be minus 1.5 months of the season so not full pop .

It could still happen

Man..if we could sign him though...wow, our team would be even crazier.
I don't care what any haters say, he'd make our team instantly better.
Sundin or Gaborik?..For all kind of reasons, I'd go with Sundin.

But I do think he's full of crap since he said at deadline last year that he didn't want to join a team half way through the season. That he wants to be part of a team from the beginning for the quest of the SC.
So if he takes another 2weeks to make a decision, and then some more time to train hard..That's not what I consider, the beginning of the season.

Like I said in the Sundin Threads, if he was hesitating and had to think about it, then he's not ready to retire. When you really want to retire, you're just going to do it. It doesn't take 6-7months to make a decision, just look at Sakic.

I'd still take him if he'd agree to a discount, there's no way he's getting that 7-8M+ deal over here.

It wouldn't be a 3rd line at all.
Like Carbo is already doing, all three top lines are pretty much getting equal minutes. Which out of the three is hot on any given night will get to play more.
This would apply with Sundin in our lineup as well.
