Renny Breaking up Voros-Dubi-Zherdev

per Blueshirt bulletin.

The one line that actually works and he is taking them apart. This better work.

http://ordinaryleastsquare.typepad.c...shirtbulletin/

New 2nd and third lines:

Voros-Dubi-Fritsche
Naslund-Drury-Zherdev

that has to be the most expensive 3rd line that has ever been created.

could work...ill give it a shot. It is nice to have one line providing offense but if 2 can, thats even better.

Eh, I'd rather have Gomez with Zherdev and Naslund if Renney's going to tinker. At least Gomez and Zherdev.

I actually read this as Fritsche being in the crosshairs. I don't think the team is done trimming the roster and Rissmiller got minutes with Drury and Naslund right before being waived. They're now giving Fritsche a shot with some quality linemates, seeing how he performs at the top of the lineup.

Of course none of the lines are really scoring on a consistent basis so I see this as a move that covers all of the 'to do's' on Renney's lst.

Mugerya...

I think there's many ways to read into it. First, he needs to get Drury and Naslund going. Second, he wants to get Fritsche in because it's his hometown/former team. Third, he potentially wants to showcase Fritsche and what better way to do it than with his best centerman currently. Fourth, Zherdev hasn't looked great and perhaps he wants to move him around also.

Lots of ways to spin it, but just as Bluenote points out, with a 6-2-1 record, Henke on top of his game and the team defense playing well, this is a time to try to get the forward lines right.

Wtfomgbbq!!

Dawes-Gomez-Callahan

Naslund-Drury-Zherdev

Voros-Dubinsky-Fritsche

Sjostrom-Betts-Orr

From the LOHUD blog.

Those are the lines. I could really see this work. I do feel bad for Dubi at this point. This guy plays well with everyone, and is one of those Rare Types. One that actually makes others around him better , and he's getting buried in the 3rd line again. I guess its ok as long as they all get about equal time on the ice.

I would rather see Naslund - Dubi - Z and have Drury play with Voros and Fritche on the 3rd line. But we will see if these lines work I say great. I predict that they won't.

I personally don't like seeing Zherdev and Dubi being split up...or Zherdev moved to the 3rd line. Hopefully he doesnt react negatively to this change.

If it works, it works though. And as others pointed out, better now than with two weeks left in the season.

EDIT - Nevermind about Zherdev being moved to the 3rd line. I see his line will now be the new 2nd. Still think Dubi is a top 6 player on this team though.

totally agree. if im fritsche, im kinda worried. is he next if hes doesnt do something?

im certain that renney and company are looking for someone to step up among korpedo, fritsche, dawes and prucha. we still have too many forwards and you gotta think the one making 1.6 is either gonna be the one who stays and plays or the one whos moved.

playing these guys with talent and giving them quality minutes allows them to either cement a spot or get fitted for cement shoes.........

Not a fan. How about just scratching Drury and Naslund for a game so they wake up.

id say that Dubinsky Voros have been clicking and Zherdev just seems to be along for the ride. so this might work.

Reward our best center by being put down to third line. I like the idea! I would have thought keeping Dubi/Zherd together and being able to move Voros made more sense, since it seems the former have the best chemistry together. As long as Dubi and co. still get the minutes they deserve (how can't they, they are our first line at the moment).

I still think Drury should be on a line with the likes of Cally and Dawes instead of Gomez. He plays better with the grittier type players.

He's still getting the same amount of icetime as Drury.

why wont he just split up drury and naslund? they have both been horrible. if he wants to wake up naslund, put him with dubi. we'll see how this works, should be interesting

What I don't understand is why doesn't Renney break up Naslund and Drury they just do not seem to work together and are on the ice for a lot of the goals against.

Why not try

Naslund-Gomez-Callahan

Voros-Dubinsky- Z

Dawes-Drury-Fristche

Sjostrom-Betts-Orr

Or even switch around Callahan and Fritsche since the end of last season Drury with Dawes and Callahan was working well together.

Team dynamics. He's our captain, he's not playing terribly, he's just not scoring(even though last game he setup at least 5 quality chances that didnt get banged home).

If this was the Flyers and their current record, then i'd say yes, bench him. Right now, we have a winning record, lets not throw it all away.

im fine with it....lets see if drury and naslund can get going....if this works it gives the rangers three legit scoring lines, isnt that the whole point?

not a fan of not having korpikoski in the lineup though....if renney is going to sit him i think he should be sent back down
