Didn't Lind play on the same line as Koivu for a while?
I believe so. Also Lind was a guy that was suppose to help the Habs lure Teemu Selanne because Koivu, Lind and Selanne played together growing up. I'm pretty sure that's how the story went.
Funnily enough, my only memory of Juha Lind was a pretty nice goal he scored. All I remember is he was coming down the left side and slapped a booming shot over the goalies shoulder as he crossed the blue line. lol

I wasn't a big habs fan back then as I barely watched ne tv back then...It started for me the season after though
thank you for the memories (2000-01)
those were the years when i stopped following the habs and watch every game.
I went back in 2003-04
I stopped watching hockey after Dallas won the Cup in '99 and hockey parents (not mine) were making it impossible to play the game anymore, and didn't come back until after Theodore won the Hart (it meant I could watch HNIC again because my mom thought Theo was cute).
all this Juha Lind talk got me thinking of a few other jems.
Craig Darby, Patrick Poulin, Patrick Traverse, Scott Lachance to name a few. Good times you know your a real fan if you stuck by the team through those lean years

Patrick Poulin in NHL was GOLD. When on hot streak he had a little stick AND a hammer!
I was lucky in a way Because I didn't get to watch any games lol I would follow the score on the radio ,as I only had like 1 channel at the time. cbc and we all know they didn't show many habs games lol
So many players brought into the team just to watch them fizzle.
Traverse - to an extent
Czerkawski
Linden
Malakhov
Rucinsky
It wasn't just the players that left that turned out to be great for other teams, the Habs just seemed to have a knack for stiffling incoming talent in those lean years. Watching the Habs and being on the receiving end of jokes all those years ago makes me appreciate the current team so much more. it was during those years that I first heard the toilet seat reference, not sure how long it's been around though.
Wonder how McCleary would have turned out if it wasn't for the freak slapper to the throat injury.
ps
Zarley Zalapski, he just had an awesome name for hockey

Wow, Malakhov! I used to love-hate that guy. What wasted talent!
