Obvioulsy Upshall isnt untouchable, but as others have said, he is the perfect third liner and will stay affordable unless his offensive numbers blow up. Most of our prospects are top 6 guys, having someone like him to stay on the 3rd line is perfect.

I don't disagree at all. In fact, all the things you said about Scottie are exactly what makes him so appealing to other teams.

while that would be nice, he still played it pathetically and absolutely incorrectly. On your knees on the goal line facing the corner is never where you want to be, especially with a right handed shot coming down the wing. Once he gets past the bottom of the circles, you have to narrow up the stance and when he gets to the line you should be upright against the post ready to push to the other side for the wrap or the bang bang pass. Goaltending is all angles and depth.

Which is what Biron is doing way wrong on shootouts. Doesn't come out far enough, doesn't match the players speed, ends up deep in the net and centered. Though sometimes he just straight up guesses and really looks like a tool.

There's a different between being off, and technically sucking.

Chris Chelios is so old, he remembers growing up in a time and age where hockey was not even invented yet.

Two out of your top 6 wingers is a real big hit to this team's offence and depth. This team starts to look a lot like Pittsburgh if you subtract two of them. Nice down the middle and pretty weak on the wings.

We have depth at wing to use, yes, but I don't believe swinging the pendulum entirely the other way is going to help either.

I worded that incorrectly. I didn't mean both would be going, I meant that I could see Homer making some phone calls and throwing those names out there to see what either would land us. My point is that to land someone that is going to change this team for the better we are certainly going to have to give up a pretty good player.

Yep, can't argue at all. I've said it a few times already, but it would've been nice if Giroux was ready like we all anticipated. It would make trading a winger (Lupul) much easier.

It certainly would help, but maybe Knuble will come around like he did last year and we live with him for one more year. I think if this team played better defense as a team, it would better hide some of the individual deficiences (Briere's defense, Knuble, etc.) However, if we do trade Lupul, we either need to pick up another 3rd line winger, or two of Downie, Giroux, Nodl need to stay in the top 9 full time.

Gagne Briere Nodl
Upshall Carter Knuble/Giroux
Hartnell Richards Downie/Knuble

check out Nashville and Florida. their offenses are pitiful but their still winning games. as long as the Flyers have Gagne, Richards, and Briere, they'll have the offense to win games. they just need more support on the backend than what Coburnand Timonen can give us every night.

yeah they win games why?
because they play a system!
they do look like a cluster**** when out on the ice like this team does.
