If you've been over to the trade rumors board you know what I'm talking about. I know it's unlikely but let's have some fun. Boston would be interested in Pitkanen, Carter, and Gagne. Although Gagne's stock has fallen off significantly, I think he would be a good enough of a base of a deal to pull it off. I think Boston would realize that Gagne was playing in a defensive oriented system and know that he could produce more in a more open system. Gagne alone would not be enough. Perhaps if we threw in another player it could get done. Candidates are Carter (no way), Richards (maybe), Radivojevic (no enough), Sharp (no enough), and Markov (maybe). Not gonna happen, but what would you give up?
Add in Burke and i would do it. lol I dont know about giving them gange and a nother young player. That would lessin our stregnth at wing.( which already isnt that good) and make us too strong at center.
Why trade away youth when it is lacking in our system?
And how exactly is youth lacking in our system? We have some really good prospects and excellent young players on the team already. Just because we have a lot of veterans doesn't mean we don't have youth as well.
you guys are expecting the Bruins to take on salary? please. this is Jermemy Jacobs we are talking about here who is probably sitting in his townhouse over looking Niagra Falls not caring at all about the state of the team. he has money in his pocket and that is all that matters to him.
flyerfreak, I know I know! I love Handzus, but he's just so damn tradeable! Not in the sense that he isn't worth much to us; other teams want him bad. I have to say that I would love to steal Joe Thornton away, though. I think that is a pretty even deal, though. Even after their playoff debacle this year, Thornton is still their franchise player, and (most) teams don't just give them away.
