Higgins? BGL?

With all the Gaborik rumours swirling around i need someone to clarify something for me. The media is saying the Thrashers mentioned Higgins name as part of the Hossa package at the trade deadline. Did Bob offer him for Hossa? OR after Atlanta got the big offer from the Penguins, Did Don Waddell then counter Montreals initial proposal by adding in Higgins. To which Bob then rejected

Second Question. What Does the 'B' stand for in BGL? (George Laraque)

B stand for Big

Waddel asked for Higgins after Pittsburgh proposal and the habs refused to trade him.

For your 1st question no one can know for sure since well we werent there but rumor is Waddell countered with Higgins which was a deal breaker.

And fyi Gainey just said he was never interested in Gaborik:

Thank God the Gaborik rumours can now come down a notch, not that Gainey saying anything is going to stop the rumours from happening.

Exactly. Carbo came out and said that the rumours were ridiculous a week ago and it didn't stop anything.

Let's see, what are the logical reasons why we wouldn't trade for Gaborik?

1) The Habs can't fit him under the cap this year.
2) Resigning him would mean losing 2-3 key players off our team next year.
3) The Habs don't have a pressing need to add more offense, and thus aren't likely to overpay for Gaborik.
4) On top of everything, although a great talent, Gaborik has shown a tendency to be injury prone, making the risk huge in paying to acquire him on the hope of resigning.
5) Gainey said so.
6) Carbo said so.
7) Gainey makes trades like a ninja kills people. You never know what's going to happen before it hits you. We would not hear this much about a trade before it happens.

What are the reasons in support of the Gaborik rumours?

1) Eklund said it.
2) GABORIK !!1 ::!!1!

He also said we're not trading Higgins.

Awesome analogy ... I propose a new nickname for Bob Gainey... Ninja Bob

When Bob does something we like.. it's "way to go Ninja Bob

but when he makes a mistake... "Gainey "

True, but how many times on the Habs has BG traded a real core player? Never.

And how many times has he traded a young player that he thought could be useful for the Habs in the future (Grabovski asked to be traded) ? And how many times did he lied to the media (saying one thing and doing another) ? Never I think.

When Gainey says something it's what he really thinks.

I really love how they kill one rumor, but don't waste any time starting another one.
