You Start Marty over Nitty today period. He saw the puck well in the 2nd and 3rd and deserves the start.

I agree though, no reason to jump on Nitty in an attempt to defend/deflect peoples comments on Marty.

Great GDT lots of good history there!

All I know is the forwards have been absolutely stellar and carrying this team. They are scoring goals at a ridiculous clip. I can't wait until Jones and Parent get back and this team really goes off.

Pondo and Madden -6, MB gave up 5 goals. When was the last time something like that happened?
Yeah, they were bad goals, but he made more than 1 or 2 tough saves in the following periods. He shut it down and looked like the Marty we know for most of the game. I'm not starting, just saying you're always at me to give Nitty credit, so here's your chance to give Marty credit. First win - be happy!

If Nitty wins this afternoon I'll be happy too.

I think Nitty starts, it's not even 24 hours between games so I assume Stevens would've planned to start one and then the other. Maybe he changes his mind to let Marty run with it. We'll see.

Well, thats exactly what I said! Biron had 2 good saves (total) in 2nd and 3rd periods. He was far away from oustanding like he was same time last year.

I would start Biron. He had enough rest. Last night was probably very emoptional win for the whole team. He is our starter and he should be playing today.

The Flyers are 1-0 in games that I miss, needless to say I will not be watching this one. They need to get out to a fast start and get to Marty/Weekes early.

I hope Danny's surgery went well.

MSE, another fabu GDT, but I'm on my laptop so a lot of the pictures didn't come through for me.

Excellent call there, Dead. I think the credit for our first win must go directly to you.

Thanks again, everyone.

In case it hasn't been mentioned, Brodeur starts today. Langenbrunner is out of the lineup.

Devils captain Jamie Langenbrunner arrived at the Wachovia Center early on Saturday and decided he was unable to play the second game of the home-and-home series with the Flyers.

"I'm going back to the hotel. I'm not playing," Langenbrunner said. "I came in and got some treatment. It doesn't feel any better than yesterday."

Langenbrunner suffered an injury when he hit the boards during the second period Friday night in Newark. He is now calling the injury a lower body "bruise."

Why would the Devils pull Brodeur for Nitty?

As of now, I don't plan to. The money I spent on CenterIce is a small price to pay to the hockey gods.
