Well if Havlat wants to come to Montreal, and is relatively cheap, I don't mind. Sure he's very injury prone since his 2005-06 season. But usually he puts up a lot of points when he's playing even if it maybe for half a season. I think it's something to consider, maybe not for the time being, but in post season.

But yea, I think we sure can look for a 4th dman at deadline unless Obyrne steps it up more, which I think he will.

Jay Bo or McKee or Morris should get some legs in the near future

which would help us a lot more than another winger, and make sense in the cap world.

Dman bandwagon vs Superstar forward firewagon

Yeah, I'll stay on the bandwagon.

Just stop with all those rumors!

You should know by now that the media will start anything to get people to watch/listen/read more.

They would have traded for him not Lang then...

On the bright side Havlat would be cheap to get, no need to give up a roster player or a bluechip prospect for him.

Havlat is dynamite when healthy. Talk about firewagon. Imagine sergei, lang and havlat on the 3rd line lol. GAWD!!!!! Its too bad the habs didnt have more skilled bangers to play with the lil ones. If only Obyrne didnt take huge strides last year.

while those 18 games havlat would play would be extremely exciting, 36 points would not get us in the playoffs...ehat i'm getting at is...um...sorry havlat we dont want you but continue loving the city as much as you want.

I'm on the numero 4 D bandwagon since the start of the season...
thats our only hole right now

Actually 36 points does make a difference, but winning 18 in a row would be quite a challenge lol. But yea, I think keeping in touch with Havlat would be smart, were this rumor true. But yea, I think we should get a top4 dman at deadline, unless Obyrne steps it up even faster than he is.

It makes less sense than going after Gaborik (which in itself is unlikely). Havlat's a gamebreaker type of player when he's healthy, but he's way more injury prone than even Gaborik, and he hasn't done anything to justify the franchise player-esque contract that Chicago gave him. On the flipside, he'd be be much easier to acquire and he's got elite level talent. If we had some salary space at the deadline, he might be a good acquistion but playing time would be an issue. His salary would be much more feasible during the offseason if some guys leave, but by that standard so would Gaborik.

Enough with the rumors about more forwards. I'd be very happy if we get a 4th d-man. This way Carbo has no sane excuse to use Brisebois.

Bouwmeester is #1 on my wishlist

With Vokoun only under contract 1 more year and no real prospects coming up in Florida...Halak could be an important piece in the deal

I don't know...do you think it would be fair to the rest of the league if our top 4 defenseman were.

Markov/Komisarek
Hamrlik/Kaberle

I was kidding, but yeah there would be a lot of jealousy if we were able to add a Kaberle, or a Bouwmeester to our top 4.

Everyone's mentioning BOUWMEESTER, but...we'd have to give sooooo much for a rental, and I think it's more about how good he'd look on paper for us than anything else. There's a huge possibility that he will/can be VERY SOFT in playoffs.

Not sure if he still has some gas left in the tank?, but I'd give a chance to...
JAY MCKEE. If we don't have to give up sooo much.

Jay McKee was a beast for Buffalo in the 2005? 2006? playoffs.
IMO, if Buffalo didn't have so many injuries during that playoffs run they could have, should have won the entire thing, imo, and Jay McKee was one of the MVP's.

p.s.: about Havlat...I'd only take a chance if we don't have to give up too much (sorta what we received for Huet or less than that, or else forget it, but I'm sure some teams will offer up a 1st round pick for Havlat at the deadline IF he's still healthy!!, and if that's the case I say Gainey should pass since we should keep our 2009 1st+2nd Round picks).

The Jay McKee from 2005 or 2006 was awesome. The Jay McKee from 2007 and 2008, not so much.

Injuries have really caught up to McKee, he's no where near the player he was just a few years ago.
