Just one of those game. The SH goal hurt us pretty bad momentum wise and so did the phantom call on Kovalev.

We did'nt give many shot but we payed for every one of our mistake and our goalies (that I don't want to blame because goal per goal, you can't really fault them) could'nt come up with a big save on a broken play.

Well... it's just a weird, weird game...

Tanguay is gold for us so far guys... I hoped he would look good, but he looks GREAT out there. Always at the right place on the ice. He is developping a nice chemestry with about every player.

Lang also did all right with 2 assists.

Koivu played an inspired night with 1 goal as well...

Lats played ok, but he'll need more to keep his place up there.

Kovy is not looking dominant, but he's notp laying bad. He is ok.

Pleks is about to bury these chances... Hell 13 shots tonight... It's more than half of all the Ducks' players.

S. Kostitsyn... Was he playing tonight?!

Kostopoulos... Great, but TK, I'll love you even more on the 4th line.

Higgins... After the giveaway, he looked great. Didn't catch any break though, but showed great hustle.

Laraque... Well outside of fighting, he's nothing to write your mother about.

Lapierre did his job.

Begin... Begin? Was he on the ice?

Oh, and all the D-Core minus Markov and maybe Bouillon/Gorges had a tough, tough night. The forechecking/backchecking was great, but our D-men had a bad night. Too many risked pinches.

It was a tough, weird night, but nothing to be panicking over...

The great

Tanguay
Koivu
Lang
Markov

The good

Plekanec
Bouillon

The ok

Latendresse
Gorges
Higgins
Kovalev
Hamrlik
Kostopoulos

The average

Lapierre
Begin

The bad

S. Kostitsyn
Komisarek
Laraque

The brutal

Brisebois

If it is long term I hope they bring up a winger. Higgins and Koivu should play together they are always setting each other up for chances.

It's an odd thing, after playing hockey for his entire life you'd think Brisebois would know how to do it by now!

sk just seems out of it, instead of playing hard and going to spaces, he floating around and is slow moving with the puck. he did have that one incredible feed to kovy though on the pp.

Practically every save was at his chest. Our players clearly have not heard that in Giguere's career he's all about positioning. Moving him side to side would be a stupid idea.

We didn't lose this game because of Brisebois, even though we was absolutely garbage. We lost this game because our goaltending was poor, and we couldn't bury our chances. Halak look flustered since puck drop, and it was evident that Price was feeling sluggish because of the flu after he came in. Add to that Giguere and his massive tent, and that explains why we lost.

I think in general we looked rusty. Passes weren't flowing like they were in the first 6 games, and the defense wasn't communicating well. The reassuring thing is that we still managed to get 50+ shots and 4 goals, meaning that we'll again be an offensive team on the worst of nights.

- Georges was probably the best dman but that was the worst I've seen a Habs 6 man unit look in a long time.

- BGL needed to fight sometime in the 2nd or early 3rd.

- Reffing was absolutly a joke.
The PP was the best last season , because the combo of Kovalev and Markov , but this season , he plays Markov on the Koivu pp unit .

Tonight , it was obvious that Plekanec and Kovalev were playing alone . They need to score few goals to find back their confidence , but right now , they are playing individually .

He made a nice pass to Kovy on his breakaway but I totally agree with you that Sergei was quite bad again tonight..

If Kovalev depends entirely on Markov to produce, well it's bad...

Kovalev is still doing good on the PP. The main difference is Plekanec who is not burying on his chances. But it shall come...
