Remember all the little things I complained about in the first period? Yeah, the boys did all of them better. Aggresive defensive zone coverage, active sticks in passing lanes, and feet moving. This is what the Flames need to do to continue to be successful. More shots actually on net too, with the exception of Cammy's shot, but rolling pucks tend to do odd things.
The goaltending on both sides of the ice was phenominal all period. Budaj and Kipper were both standing on their respective ears. Miikka was easily the best penalty killer for the Flames that frame with some game breaking saves. Nothing I would call save of the game, but certainly nice to see him playing like Miikka of olde. It's really too bad that Bertuzzi is going to get soft calls like that because his play this season has been fantastic.
I wonder when Darcy Tucker is going to join the Summer Olympic Diving team?
