But WHY!!! Can't we just be good at everything?

Last season it we owned at pp and were ok on pk, now we're good at 5 vs 5 and faceoffs, but our special units blow.

The stupid schedule is kicking our ass. It's hard to get sharp with 4-5 days off between games. Once we get back to a regular schedule, I expect things to improve...

Must be the goaltending

The PP will eventually mesh, the chances are there but they keep missing the back of the net.

The team has been slacking in general, playing about 1 period per game on average... the PP is one of the things they will improve over the rest of the season. What really matters to me is how they are in the playoffs.

The PP is not converting on the rate it should be, but it is getting a fair amount of chances. Last game, they could have had a couple easy goals, but some of the guys missed easy chances (Lang especially). I would be a lot more worried if they weren't getting good possession or chances on their PP than I am now.

Uhm... so that means that most team must have looked real bad at 5-on-5, because Montreal is 3rd in the league for 5-on-5 +/-.

Guess you're hard to please.

I agree, no need to bash the guy. Hes been one of the better players this year. No bashing coming from me. Tang and Lang, have been good. I don't understand the problems with people. They are no Breezy!

What is?

That Kimota sees something that is really not the case, or just the fact that the Habs are 3rd best in the league at 5-on-5?

Power play is amazing..they just need to score when they get open nets. The PP created all kinds of chances last night, Canes were running around like chickens with no heads..they just need to bury their chances (Pleks, Lang..)

I am more dissapointed by the whole markov shooting experiment...he has a good slapshot but not good enough to blast through D-men and goalies....he might get there but who knows...

i miss the markov-kovy cross ice pass...tanguay tries it sometimes....

i would love to see a mrakov-hamrlik combination..hamrlik has a better one-timer slap shot imo...he is already overworked defensively...dunno if he will be in top shape for the 3rd period crunch time after playing around 10 minutes on the PP + PK + 5 on5 etc...

what do you guys think of hammer as the shooter?

The PP doesnt worry me one bit. I love the way they are able to dominate the zone once they gain posession. They're doing everything except scoring.

I noticed something last night. Teams are trying everything to prevent us from gaining the puck once we gain the zone. I know this sounds like an asinine comment but bare with me...they really scramble all over the place for to prevent our guys to even get the puck. But once they do, the defenders immediately drop into a passive tight box. It just seems so difficult to defend against that good of quality puck movers that they would risk scrambling out of position just to avoid having to to face the Habs PP attack.

This team has too much high level talent but not enough elite players. That can create a problem on the power play when you have a bunch of evenly skilled players but no super good finishers, maybe besides Kovalev.

Yeah and that would totally explain why they finished 1st on the PP for the last two seasons.

Nice try, but.... NEXT!

Lots of great chances on the PP just haven't gone in. Not to mention at least 1 or 2 goals that went in after the PP just expired.

Not worried at all...we dominate with the puck and gain the zone so easily.

Anyway, the PP has to be able to come together at the right time - just remember last year's playoffs if you need any more proof.

don't worri, power play not good but kovalev number one and tanguay imazing, great game yesterday, unbelivabel.
