I didn't see a prospect discussion thread so I created this one for Mitch. I can give you guys updates every so often if you would like. I did it last year for a couple other teams as well.
Mitch is going to serve the last of his 3 game suspension tonight when the Chiefs play Everett. I think it was supplementary discipline for a couple checking from behind penalties, not 100% sure.

still kinda sour about drafting him before staal, but thats great news he has 10 points in 10 games. from what i've seen he looks to be a great prospect that can play at both ends effectively but hates taking the big hit to make the play. i heard from a buddy down in seattle he looks like a young yzerman out there at times.. would love if you kept updating.
I never was a big fan of Nemiez (sp?) and I thought Mitch Wahl would become a better player. So far it's looking like it, although I hope he isn't going to become a huselius. Definitively a possible 2nd line nhl center. The person who mentioned not getting staal, he's was mentioned as a project like an aaron marvin. I personally would have liked calgary to grab David Toews but meh, Wahl will be good. Keep up the updates.

I liked what I saw from Nemisz in that rookie tournament in Camrose.
I liked the Nemisz pick, but was more excited about the Wahl Pick. Wahl is a playmaker that the Flames needed more of in their system. IMO, he was the key to their draft because of his playmaking ability. It he is a few inches taller, i doubt the Flames get him in the 2nd, and he would have been in the talk for a 1st round pick. I like Nemisz but he is more the solid goal scoring type the Flames have some of in their system. Walh hopefully becomes their play maker down the road.
What is 'a Huselius' and why is that a bad thing anyway? If we can get a 77 point offensive force out of a small 2nd rounder it would be our most successful draft pick since Phaneuf
what's wrong with huselius is that he was softer than wet tissue paper. He would disappear too many times and put up points when it didn't really matter, wasn't clutch. Wahl had a reputation of avoiding the corners, and I'm really hoping he can turn that around and avoid that label if he wants to become something. The only reason I brought up Nemisz is that I'm saying Wahl is a better prospect imo. He's put up more points, same amount of goals in less games in a tougher league. I think Wahl is very underated and a huge steal in the 2nd round. Got 2 assists in his last game too. Though I do have to wonder if anyone watches the chiefs game is he really playing that good or is his points a product of an dynamite team?
From my limited viewing of Wahl he is nothing close to Huselius. Wahl was very good defensively in the games in Camrose that I saw. I didn't see him shy away from any contact either. Definetly not a physical guy, but didn't seem scared to mix it up. Interested in seeing what some chiefs fans would say who have seen him more often.

Really? If there was any prospect I didn't want Calgary to take it was Jared Staal, just a useless player for Sudbury, I fail to see what anyone sees in him other than his name. He really has no redeeming qualities right now, he will have to change something drastically if he ever intends on making the NHL. Right now I wouldn't bet on him sticking in the AHL for any prolonged period of time.
