It's baAAAack: LABATT NORDIC CUP Oct. voting!

Alright let's be honest, the team is 6-1-1 and playing pretty damn well. You could easily argue that the LNC is not necessary right now -- why single out our least valuable player when we're off to such a great start?

But then I got to thinking, hey, they awarded the Stanley Cup even when the Hurricanes won it... they didn't say "well, no one REALLY deserves it so let's just scrap it this time." And so the LNC presses on.

For those new to the board or with short memories, during hockey season the Labatt Nordic Cup honors the Hab who, like Labatt Nordic (the non-alcoholic version of Labatt), most fails to do his job for the month.

Last year Smoke was the only player to win this coveted prize TWICE, so he had the honor of getting his head photoshopped into an appearance with the Cup (see below). As usual, this month's winner will have his name immortalized in stunning blue ballpoint pen on the cup, where future generations can marvel at his futility.

So cast your vote!

O'Byrne for me aswell
I like the kid, I really do, and I hope he can improove but damn he struggles alot.
Everytime he has the puck im nervous.

I still rather have him in the lineup over Brisebois.

EDIT: Noone will vote for Lang, the guy has been awesome!

I'll go for o'byrne as well.

To elaborate, I think he needs to use his body more and he really looks nervous at times out there. He makes some mistakes that he shouldn't and seems to always want to get rid of the puck as fast as possible.

EDIT: Thanks for embedding the video, whoever did it <3

Other... I don`t know who yet, I`m waiting for the next game, but I don`t think it`ll be any of the above.

EDIT: ok NOW there is a chance it may be someone from above.

Breakwood has shortened my life by at least a week or two in the last couple of games he played.

Thanks for adding O'Byrne... I guess I should have put him in the poll originally but I have a soft spot for the guy since we went to the same college (I'm a few years older though).

I actually think Breezer has done a decent job filling his role, which obviously isn't to be a top D-man. He's a +2 and has been giving us 15 minutes per game of non-horrible defense.

And yeah, Lang is in there kind of as a joke.

I'm much more apt to forgive O'Byrne's mistakes than i am to forgive Breezers....

Veterans like Breezer with nearly 1000 gp shouldn't continue to make the same mistakes... at least theer is a chance O'Byrne can learn from his.

I'd tell you to put Lats instead of Lang as your joke... but Lats would actually get votes sadly enough considering his play this month.

As Beaker so eloquently wrote, I rather forgive O'byrne who is young and learning and I have been scared every time Breezer is on the ice and would rather he not be playing. He has been horrible almost every game.

I love the Nordiques cup !!!

I voted O'Byrne objectively, he was the worst in the list, even if he is young is not an excuse, he was horrible this month (continuing the pre-season...).

it's close between Brisebois and O'Byrne. I voted for Brisebois because he's killed offensive opportunities and made his usual gaffes in the defensive zone again and again and again...

I can't stand him anymore. last year he was ok but this year.. enough is enough..

I had to go with Breezer, O'Byrne has been bad but Breeze makes me swear at the tv more then any other player hands down.

I vote for Pleks, cause he is supposed to be our top center and he is the most important player that is not playing up to par. He needs to get out of his funk, not sure what his problem is. There was talk during the CJAD broadcast of the last game that Lang may be play with Kovalev if Pleks doesn't snap out of it soon.

I would try these lines for a period, ya never know. I would like to have A kost away from Kovalev and on the right side. These lines could work.

Higgins Lang Kovalev
Lats Koivu Tanguay
S. Kost Pleks A. Kost
Kostopoulos Lapierre/Laraque/Begin/Dandeneault

Breezer never stopped making mistakes through those 1000 games. It's a part of his game. When it comes to Brisebois, his errors are almost a strategy.

O'Byrne needs a wake up call. Coming to the boards and seeing himself voted Nordic Cup winner should remind him he needs to pick up his play.
