Peter Ing. Its like his name is a gerund (noun); Petering.
The GM looks down from his booth, "What's that man doing down there?"
"Petering! Good God! There's women and children here!"
Not a funny name, but a story based on names.
The Isles had a guy named Randy Wood a while back.
The annoucer said, "Green enters the zone with Wood" my friend's reply, "He can tell he's has wood from way up there in the booth?"
Or one time I heard this: "Yzerman enters the zone on Foote" (Adam Foote) It sounded funny, "on foot", like he's taken off his skates.
A journalism entry: Here in Raleigh, the 'Canes beat write was, "Luke DeCock" That name is one in a million.
Altho, thats alot like Pete Peteers.
"Pete honey, did you peter out again? Damn I can't believe the irony of being married with a guy who's named Pete Peteers and actually peters out."
The Habs had a goalie in the system named Les Kuntar at some point. Phoenetically, I think it was Kooontar.
I had a call in show on one day and the caller kept saying that they had to call up Kuntar, using the flat U sound. I think the hosts were Elliot Price and Melnick, and from what I remember, they couldn't even stop laughing long enough to talk to the guy. They completely lost control as the guy used the name about 8 times.
