Well you gotta think that the contracts are frontloaded too. So while the Cap hits are just an average I still think Briere and Timonen made a lot more money last year then they will towards the end of their contract.
As they said, we are still playing players that are not on the roster, add into the fact the front loaded contracts, and thats why you are making a loss. It wont happen for much longer, sometimes you gotta spend money to make money

Possibly. One of my friends is a huge Flyers fan (we go to school in Florida) and when she looked up ticket prices to see the Flyers/Panthers she flipped out because of how much more expensive they are here than up in Philly.
Shoot, when I went to buy Devils tickets last week, their prices were ridiculous. People were selling lower-level seats for over $200 bucks, when they're like $90 here. I couldn't believe it.

I'm actually curious as to how they define all that revenue...given that the "Flyers" do not get money from a TV station to air their games.

Add in the fact they paid the fine, and players who aren't even here anymore, as well as front-loaded contracts and only lost 1.8 WITHOUT TV revenue included actually means the Flyers did well last year.
It is when looked at the actual value of the team.

We might pass detroit if the american car sales continue to fall, theerfore putting a strain onto there economy. I also heard that even when Detroit is good, they do not sell out alot of games. Is this true?

Plus, I can't tell if that's just ticket sales? Did they include Concessions? T-shirts, jerseys, etc? Licensing of their logo?

I think Forbes included everything (concessions, jerseys, t-shirts, ect.). However, with the way the Flyers TV deal is set-up due to Comcast owning them, I don't think the Flyers get "credited" with their TV revenue in their "operating budget" since they don't get paid a TV contract.
This makes sense since Comcast already owns the channel and the team. Why pay the team you own to broadcast their games on channels you own?
Forbes would be unable to count this in the operating income for the Flyers, as TV revenue would be included in Comcast-Spectacors operating budget.
However, TV revenue is very evident in the fact the Flyers are worth the 5th highest amount in the NHL, only behind 4 of the "Original 6" teams.
So technically, the Flyers did in-fact generate lots of money last year.
