I know. The dude is arguably our best player outside of Henrik. Maybe people hate on him because he was a Devil before and wasn't homegrown. I dunno... I know people dont like his 7 mill number, but hes worth it

Putting the Playstation line together again is a good idea. See if Drury clicks again. I think the big thing is no one really produced vs. the Isles. It was a bunch of sloppy goals. More like the Isles let the Rags get those goals.

I like Z back with Dubi. And seriously thinking here about Sundin, if we do sign him, and that's a big if....Gomez will be gone, he's the only one we can really trade. Fritche between Dawes and Callahan, has to be tried once.

Now the only reason to move Gomer is that he is one of those players that you can't just plug into a line and have him produce. Needless to say, the roster will change up in the coming weeks.

Trade likelihood

Gomez - 50%
Prucha - 75%
Fritche - 25%

Gomez won't and shouldn't be traded

Please, if you want to talk about "player X" being traded, use the appropriate thread.

Three things you're not considering:

1) We don't know what each player is doing in practice. Maybe Fritsche is consistently better than Prucha in practice, but that hasn't translated into live action yet.

2) We don't know if Prucha has any injuries, minor or otherwise, or maybe a case of the flu. Maybe he actually needs a night off to get back to 100%.

3) Prucha is still the odds on favorite to be traded because of his contract. Maybe he's being held out to prevent a possible injury because a deal is in the works.

Maybe none of that is the case here. Maybe Renney just wanted to give Fritsche some time and he didn't like the line combinations with both he and Prucha in the lineup.

But all that aside, what has Prucha actually done to deserve to stay in the lineup? I don't care what anyone thinks Dawes has or hasn't done, or what Fritsche has or hasn't done. That's isn't the point. What has Prucha done? Yes, he works hard, but what are the tangible benefits of that work? He drew a penalty that led to a goal by someone else. That's pretty much it.

Again, I'm not saying that Dawes or Fritsche deserve playing time over Prucha. I'm saying that Prucha doesn't deserve to be an every day player. Right now those 3 players are pretty much interchangeable. None of them have contributed to the point where it would matter if they weren't in the lineup.

I am rarely one to defend prucha, but you have to look at his TOI. He really does not see much ice when they give him a shot in the line up.

I wondered that too. Maybe still feeling the effects of blocking that shot on Monday?

I'm really disappointed in Dawes. I expected this guy to have a quick start and he has absolutely nothing noteworthy. He isn't here for his defense, so I couldn't care less if he's not a liability out there. He's here to score goals. I'm really surprised Renney is still playing him. Maybe he knows something we don't?

Anyway, I know it's only 12 games in, but Dawes needs to start participating.

Why, apparently being invisible on the ice gives you a roster spot if your name is Dawes. We don't want him to go out there and give it his all like Prucha to be benched every other game

On topic, LGR! Thrashers will probably come out skating tonight. Hopefully an easy win regardless.

Let's do this.

Philly just ate this team alive, we should be able to take them.

One question, as I've seem to have missed the boat:

Why is it called, 'The Playstation Line'?

Voros was playing NHL09 on the PS3 with Dubi and he suggested to put them on a line togehter "in the game", and in practice the next morning Renney made it happen.

As long as the rangers play up to the level that their capable of and not down to the thrashers playing level, they should win.

Lets Go Rangers!

Kovalchuk might be hungry tho' after the crappy game against Philly the other day. Maybe he breaks out tonight after a slow start not only for his team, but for himself as well.

But a 100% effort by all the guys tonight should be enough to get the 2 points.

Did Renney happen to do it by coincidence or did Voros mention it to him?

So there's a better chance of trading Gomez, our #1 Center than there is of trading Fritche?

50% Chance!? One more percent and you'll be saying the Rangers will probably trade Gomez!

I don't understand Ranger fans sometime. They want to trade a big contract just so they can give someone else a big contract

ANYWAY

Tonight's a good look at how the Rangers do after a few days off, and against a team that should be hungry. For once I'm not concerned about a slow start since this team has been flying, but I am concerned about a good start and no goals/trailing after 1.

I'm confused.

From Sam's blog:

Some other notes:

"So I stand corrected at least on how the lines will look to start tonight. Renney will go with the same combinations he went with Monday on the Island. But again, donít be surprised if he mixes it up."

This was posted 20 minutes ago.

Prucha playing then?!

Anyway, Let's go Rangers!
