And I think that's where the issue is. What are we voting for?

Should we be taking expectations into consideration? If we flip it around, when people vote for an MVP, expectations are rarely looked at so why do we take them into consideration for LVP?

If we aren't taking expectations into consideration, then Plekanec has no business there, IMO. He hasn't played well, but despite his poor play he still has been more valuable than a lot of guys on the team.

I voted Brisebois, but probably should have put O'Byrne.

As some stated though, i believe it's more beneficial for the team, in the long run, to have O'Byrne learning from his mistakes, rather than have Brisebois making the same mistakes he's made in his 1,000 game career.

Tough call though. I kinda hope Brisebois wins though because I don't want to see O'Byrne's name up there with the likes of Brisebois, Smolinski, Ryder, and Dandenault.

I always thought the Nordic Cup was to recognise the "most disappointing" player rather than the "least valuable", so player expectations would be heavily weighted. I could be mistaken though.

Yep. It's not for the worst player or least valuable, it's for the player that disappoints or underachieves the most as far as I recall.

Is there a reason why I can't vote? Is it because I'm rookie user ? Thx in advance for the answer.

Yes....

As for voting, i vote for the guy who would make me happiest if he were a healthy scratch... or if they shipped him off the team.

O'Byrne, then Brisebois.. then Begin.

Most disappointing has been Plekanec though.

Either way, I'm not a huge fan of this. We are one of the best teams in the league.. and we are trying to find negatives instead of pointing out the positives. 95% of this forum is negative bashing when really, we should be talking about something positive.

Latendresse's speed. Lang's play. Tanguay's goal scoring. Koivu's PPG pace. Markov's chance at a record. Two awesome young goalies, etc, etc.

Watch him score with a weak wrister that deflects of a skate, earning him next game in the lineup too.

I would try these lines for a period, ya never know. I would like to have A kost away from Kovalev and on the right side. These lines could work.

Higgins Lang Kovalev
Lats Koivu Tanguay
S. Kost Pleks A. Kost
Kostopoulos Lapierre/Laraque/Begin/Dandeneault
I like those lines, the Kosts Bros reunited !!!

I voted for Plekanec, simply due to his stature on the team.

No he played well.
Converged on players at the line.
Then he had a terrible giveaway in the third period but it did not end up in the back of the net.

Personaly I think Komisarek has been playing real bad. Often out of position and when he gets the puck it just seems so difficult. But he didnt get my vote.

Plekanec has been the most disappointing player so far. He's been good defensively but he is struggling offensively. Sometimes he looks like he is one step behind the play in the offensive zone. He plays like a third liner who has pretty much been given the number one center job. He is the player who is struggling the most given the importance of his role.

O'byrne and brisebois are sharing the last d-man spot on the team. They are being asked to bring a little something while not making too many mistakes, o'byrne brings the toughness and brisebois brings some offensive skills with the puck. Dandenault isn't that bad so far and begin is still good on the pk but clearly has lost a lot of jam with all these years of highly physical hockey.

I voted for brisebois. I wish he would simplify his game. I dont want to see him making risky pinches or giving free breakaways. Evaluating Brisebois is like evaluating the refs. The less you notice them, the more satisfied I am.

I voted Brisebois, but that was before he had a good game last night. He played a solid, quiet game.

I voted other as in ''leave the title vacant for this month''. We have an 7-1-1 record since the season started. I don't think anyone needs to get a bucket of crap on their head! That said, I come in peace.

If Price doesn't bail him out on the Belanger breakaway... things would be different today.
