uh, no. I heard Poile's still after that Crosby kid, too. I hope he doesn't trade DeVries and Fiddler for him.

Well, we're fine with our current NHL roster, so I think we were just fleshing out the Ads lineup a bit with the Jessiman/Ramholt trade.

Pihlström-O'Reilly-Thuresson
Spaling-Santorelli-Santorelli
Jessiman-Werner/Peters-Wilson
Grant-Peters/Werner-McKenzie/Maki

Franson-Sulzer
Laakso-Ramholt/Matheson
Dietrich-Ramholt/Matheson
McElroy

MacIntyre
Dekanich

Acquiring guys like Jessiman who 'might' have a chance on this team....well, it can't hurt, especially given his size. I do agree that both will probably spend the rest of the season in the minors.

Agreed, I think that factored in to both of these trades a good bit.

There's nothing wrong with making our minor league team more competitive. I don't think either of these guys will make the NHL, but Jessiman can put up 40 points in the AHL and Ramholt can at least play SOME defense (as opposed to, say, Dietrich), so this should be a good deal for the Ads, who are making another push for the playoffs this year.

I have no problem with the acquisition, I just have a problem with people thinking these two guys could make the NHL as "late bloomers." Especially Jessiman, who couldn't even get that much ice time in Hartford before the trade.

And to answer the OPs question, one man's toxic sludge is another man's potpourris. I personally find it relaxing to know that the only moves we need to make are to shore up our minor league team.

Fun Fact: Hugh Jessiman is the only player picked in the first round of the 2003 draft to have not yet appeared in a single NHL game.

Honestly these trades should have read the Milwaukee Admirals have acquired Jessiman and Ramholt

Can't. These players are all under two-way contracts...meaning that only their NHL teams can trade their rights.

Okay would it be better if he said could instead of should????

Really that's what this is though AHL talent being moved between teams solely for the purpose of making both AHL teams better.
