The official Penalty Killing Unit appreciation thread.

These guys deserve it tonight.

Minny had the number 3 PP in the league before the game... they were 0 for 10 tonight. The PK killed 4 seperate 5 on 3s for a total of almost 4 minutes of 5 on 3 time.

Big props for Carey, Andrei, Komi, Hammer, Gorges, Bouillion, Breezy, Dandy, Lapierre, Kovy, Pleks, Lang, Saku, Higgins, Kostopolous, and Sergei Kost.

You forgot Kostopoulos

Although it's understood that he wasn't that good tonight, but he's usually one of our best PKers

I don't have the words to describe out PK tonight. The Wild were never really able to set up their PP properly.

Price sucks! He deflated the team by letting a goal in early.

Absolutely deserved. Going 10/10 on the PK including killing nearly 4 minutes of 5 on 3s is fantastic.

All the guys deserve a ton of credit. They cut the passing lanes, weren't overly aggressive and only gave up 14 shots (few of them dangerous) during the 15:29 they were shorthanded.

If I had to pick someone whose performance I really liked it would be Josh Gorges, who logged 8:33 of SH time tonight. (More than anyone else.) This guy is incredible. Landed a few nice hits too. He just keeps developing all the sides of his game, it's great to see.

Killed 10 penalties out of 10 is a phenomenal feat... Kudos to the PK! The legend of Carey Price vs 5 on 3 PP continues to grow...

Kudos to Gorges (8:33), Markov (7:17), and Komisarek (6:10) logging huge amounts of PK icetime.

On 5 on 3s, Price stays deep in his net and limits unecessary side to side movement. And the guy is so ****ing massive he's a friggin wall.

Love the kid.

SKost only killed 8 seconds of penalties, it might have been a transition moment as penalties had overlapped. Tanguay had 6 seconds but you didn't list him, nor would I have either.

O'Byrne, on the other hand, absolutely deserves the mention you gave him. After all, he killed off every second of every penalty by eating hot dogs and then farting in the general direction of the Minnesota bench. Not only did the smell waft all the way down and disturb the Wild players, but it distracted a large section of fans on the way which reduced their enthusiasm and support, thus making the Habs on-ice players' job easier.

Bye bye Begin. The guy has a lot of heart, but he's not as valuable as he was anymore. People say excellent on the PK, but can anyone name a player that plays on the PK and that is not good at it? If Begin doesn't take as much stupid penalties, he might have a spot in the line-up but for now, looks like he's #14 forward on the team. Btw, I love the Lappy-TKO duo on the fourth line. They do an amazing job forechecking.

I noticed that too. That, in part, means the PK unit has a whole lot of confidence in Price's abilities.

Seriously, the guy is useless to the team now and makes 1 million $...

We need him for energy you say? I think Lapierre is doing a great job at that.
Need him on the PK? I think last night showed we don't need him anymore.
Need him to fight? Kosto and Laraque are here now.
