Shanahan at $1.5M ?

I wonder if you want to have Brendan Shanahan at $1.5M / year.

No, no, no and no.

And I'm a Shanny fan.

No need to add forwards when we're sending an NHL ready forward to the AHL for lack of room.

Nope, to slow would not be able to keep up to the rest of the team.

Why would we? We are already logjammed at wing. Where is susposed to play, on the fourth line?

we would go from one of the fastest teams to one of the slowest just by adding him.

I am not interested.
We have a top 9.
We are 7-1-1

The only position we could discuss about adding is a Defencemen.

Other than that, we're fine.

Nope....

Save the 1.5 million for a trade deadline move on defence... no need to add an extra winger.

At 1.5 million? No thanks.

However the Devil's Advocate in me wouldn't object too vociferously to a go to the net, tip point shots, collect garbage goal type forward for the PP/4th line.

If we don't have Dandy and Begin in the line-up, I would have said yes.

Nope. He had his chance. The habs are no longer a team that signs finished players like they used to.

Your fantasy talk went to the fantasy thread... where it belongs.

sounds like Lang. I would much prefer someone on the team like Shanahan who would become valuable come playoff time

He can be valuable, but I have a bad gut feeling.

I agree, I just don't get how many people could vote for the ''No, even for free'' option.
Refusing such a player for free would be more than stupid.

He's terrible defensively these days apparently, but he'd be sweet for the powerplay and the third line.

The guy spit twice in Gainey"s and Habs' faces . SO, NO , thanks.

L.A area is the right place for him and his lovely wife.

Fans like you scare me a little bit. You take everything far, far too serious. And I'm a pretty obsessive guy when it comes to hockey. You need to step back once in a while and realize that not signing a contract with someone is not spitting in their face.

I think that if he spit in Gainey's face, Gainey might have retaliated in some way.

I wish we had him doing media here though. He told writers once that he played sax in a jazz band, just because he likes to make stuff up. They asked him if he ever brought it into the room, but he told them, 'no, no sax before games'.

Yes, if he signs for free. But since it's illegal to sign a player under league minimum, it's a waste of cap space.

I don't know. I voted a reluctant "no". I guess if it meant Brisebois getting waived/retired, I'd take it, however. But I know that's not going to happen.

Stepping down from that dream scenario, would it mean Dandenault waived/demoted? I doubt it.

Stepping down from that acceptable scenario, would it mean Sergei Kostitsyn sent back to Hamilton? Ok, yes, what else is there? In that case, I probably don't sign Shanahan.
