Thank You Brendan Shanahan

Thanks for seeing the positives in NY and signing with the Rangers. Its been a pleasure having you to root for. Wherever you go I wish you success and happiness!

You helped turn this franchise around and for that I'll always remember your time as a Ranger fondly!

Shanny was great for us not doubt. I'm happy that he isn't on the team though. It was time to move on. Where the hell is he though? I'm suprised there has been no mention, or interview on his intentions this year.

Future Considerations?

Scenerio: Shanahan signs a 1 year deal with Nashville and is sent to NY at the deadline as the future considerations in the Jessiman deal....

What kind of greif would that cause?

Enjoy the Blues Shanny! Hope you do for that young team what you were able to do for the Rangers. This guy was a class act from day one and it's a shame how it all ended but the team is more important than any one player, those days are over here.

I will never forget that fight with Brashear

I really think he's going to the Blues. If not Tampa, they have aquired everyone else available so far so why the hell not.

I dunno, that makes it sounds like a bit more than a hetero man crush on Shanny.

SHANNY! SHANNY! SHANNY!

I think he'll be back this year. I think he is just listening to other teams to see his options.

Jagr should be credited for turning this franchise around, not shanny.

Nevertheless, good luck to wherever u go and it's a shame Sather treated this situation badly

This franchise was turned around long before Shanny ever arrived at MSG. Jagr, Lundqvist, Straka, Nylander, Renney, and company are the parties that are truly responsible for the return to respectability and good form. If anything, Shanny hurt the development of young players, notably Prucha, whom role he assumed, while not necessarily earning it.

That being said, he brought a lot of intangibles to this team, and certainly proved to be a role model both on and off the ice for the young, new generation of players that Sather (rightly or wrongly) is building the future NYR teams around.

Unless that player has embarrassed the team or shown contempt for the team, I'm always in favor of giving a nice send off to a player who served the NYR, whether that player is Brian Leetch or Tom Poti. Brendan Shanahan bled for this club, and I'm glad I had the chance to root for him for the last two years.

Good luck, Shanny.

Yea I hear ya. Jagrs team, and without Henrik and Jagrs success in 06 we dont get Shanny.

Jagr was traded here when no one wanted him.

Shanny out right chose NY and said all the right things.

They both played their part imo
