He started off slow but has been on fire as of late. You can find out more in this thread:

I've seen a couple of Brampton games so far. He looks good, he's got some great size. In one of the games I saw someone tried to hit him and it was like a fly off a brick wall. They call him Geno. I know Matt Duchene (2009 top ranked prospect) was absolutely pumped about getting him on his line. I think they said his English is pretty good too.

A better analogy would be like a ping pong ball off of a wall.....better visual.

That is all.

Well, he didn't so much BOUNCE off, like a ping pong ball, as he did CRUMBLE to the ice, which is why I went with fly.

Grachev is a kid who have been well known on the scene for a couple of years, and dropped off allot during his draft year. Some experts had him as a 1st round pick right before the draft.

He is skill level is typical for a Russian. He got really smooth hands. He got great controll over his feets and have allot of modern moves in him. His shot is okey and he got some playmaking skills.

A big platform in his game is of course his size and physical power.

What its all about for him though is to put it all together. He have played 3rd tier hockey (against mens), since he was 15th y/o, in Russia and done okey, but he have not been a consistant scorer at a higher level yet in his career. Everyone knows that he got some great raw tools, but nobody have seen him put it all together. Thats why he dropped in the draft.

It will be very exciting following him this year in the OHL. If he can score at that level there won't be many questionmarks left about him.

Obviously it's tough to tell, but how many years do you think till he has a legitimate chance to make the big club? 3 or 4 years?

Yeah, that's a likely bet. Maybe 2-3 if he pulls it all together.
